Am I the only one that finds swiping annoying and less productive than the trackpad?

    Please chime in...

As a note I currently own and love my Z10 but can't wait for the classic!

Yes, how dare you bring swiping, touch screens and all that teenager iPhone nonsense onto our beloved efficiency engines!

As for your question, it depends in which subforum you look. Personally, I've never looked back at my old Bold 9900, trackpad and all.

Well, it all depends on what you're doing and personal preferences. SOME of us love the trackpad and would be very happy with a track only device with NO touch. Others love all glass. Many are somewhere between. Diversity is a wondrous thing.

I, personally, believe that it's a matter of time before some significant numbers of users start feeling like they'd just rather aim a pixel sized pointer than attempting to sharpen a 3/4" wide finger. BBRY can be there ready and waiting to fill that demand, if it ever materializes, with their unique innovation called a trackpad. Of course Chen isn't about to pay me for my advice so...

It really depends. I hope the classic will bring us the best of both of the system's advantages to result in a very unique user experience.

Nowadays it is impossible to launch a device completely without a touch screen as that would be just a step backwards. Within that ubiquitous touch screen world I think BlackBerry did a pretty good job with those gestures providing a super efficient and intuitive user experience.

However there are certain use cases where a hardware interaction just can't be topped in terms of speed or the likes of a haptic feedback.

So with the Q20 those issues can be addressed all in one device, which could result in a very interesting BlackBerry smartphone.

There is practically no way it won't be touch and toolbar. And for me pressing a physical button to minimize is better A) more accurate muscle memory and B) more reliable press than a sometimes misread swipe

BB10 sucks at highlighting and copy/pasting. It also sucks at selecting many items at a time that are in a row.

I can think of ways to improve this without the trackpad / blackberry key, but it will never happen, so I would love them to re-introduce a trackpad.

The trackpad will fix the issue of having to swipe the top of the screen for some gestures. One of the best things about the trackpad is it enables 100% one handed use which is one of the defining factors in productivity.

Looking more and more forward to this device - trying to hold off on my upgrade at work (salivating over the Q10 for awhile now, and I'm just eligible to upgrade my 9360).

I enjoyed the ability on the 9930 to interact with the device by keyboard, trackpad, and touch screen. I'm looking forward to the q20 (classic) device. For me, the trackpad allows for the pinpoint movement, and depending on my movement through a task, sometimes I'll touch a certain area of the screen, then move further through the operation with the trackpad.
