I spilled Red Bull on my phone and now the speaker sounds terrible. Any suggestions on how to fix the problem?

After reading your title I kinda hoped to read that your phone "got wings" and flew away.

Does the phone go faster?... or fly?

Sorry, other than 'carefully' washing the speaker with water, aka moist q-tip to get rid of the dried sugar... no.

And if the phone doesn't have a removable battery the above is even more risky.

The only reason this didn't make me mad is because I didn't spill Red Bull on my phone, that was just the easiest way to explain my situation. A friend of mine spilled Red Bull in the cup holder of my car, and I had no idea it was even in there until hours after the bottom of my phone had been submerged in it. Thanks for you help though.

I'm using the Classic. The only part of the phone that was damaged was the speaker.

As mentioned before, water might be your only straight forward solution. Use pure water to avoid other minerals messing with the circuits...

Hmm, this also means that the connector would have been submerged in the redbull. That's gonna be tricky.
If you could find an exploded diagram to see what else is located at the bottom, it could guide you as to whether you could try the distilled water suggestion above.
No chance of taking it in to have it professionally looked at?

Send the phone back. Say it has the double typing error every once in a while.

Then hope they replace the phone.

Contact BlackBerry to do an RMA repair, tell them the speaker is crackling.

They'll repair your speaker or replace the device, provided the liquid damage indicator stickers haven't turned red (they probably haven't since it doesn't sound like your device was totally submerged or on its back in Red Bull).

And if they DO find liquid damage indicator stickers that show up red, they'll either ask if you want to pay for the speaker to be repaired or offer to ship you back your phone for free.

You've got nothing to lose, other than your Classic for a week or so.

Don't ever clean it with any kind of liquid! Small speakers like these are extremely sensitive and it will only make it worse! I did the same thing with my old phone. There was some red bull in the speaker and it sounded weird, but it actually operated normally after about two months. So maybe you should wait and see what happens. Best of luck!
