    Hi everyone!

I installed recently the latest version of skype which is the 7.28, but for some reason is not receiving or making any calls. Today someone called me on my computer's skype with no problem, but the skype on my classic didn't even give a notification about it, although I was logged on in Skype both in my computer and my phone.

Does anyone have this problem with skype? I have reinstalled the application but no luck so far. Any ideas?

    T.

Also the same with my Passport but found out that the chat portion is working. Also when I try video or audio calls, it doesn't connect but the receiving computer indicates a missed call??

Yeah, the chat works with no problems here. It's really weird it keeps connecting and the call doesn't go through...

Yeah.. the only one that works for me is the old BlackBerry World version. It's hidden but still there for some reason.

The version in the Amazon store and Google Play won't connect calls

I actually can't install blackberry world's version of skype. There is a weird error that says that I don't have enough network coverage, although I use wifi to download apps. I don't understand.

I want to post a picture, but for some reason the image doesn't appear here in reply box.

Skype - free IM & video calls 6.18.0.911 APK Download by Skype - APKMirror

    Hey

Did anyone keep a backed up copy of SKYPE that works on a BB Classic? I got jacked up installing Google Play and I had a working version of Skype that was without issues. Now all it seems I can do is format re-install the OS and start over. Abandoned platforms are a nightmare. I'm seconding guessing if I'll move to KeyOne platform in the future..

If Someone has a backed up copy of SKYPE on a Dropbox (obviously with a link) that would be handy.

    Thanks in advance..

You won't have these sort of problems on the KeyOne - not for at least a few years, anyway. Most of the must-have apps on Android today are still being designed to work on Kit Kat. The KeyOne will ship with Nougat; given previous trends, Nougat-supported apps will probably continue being published until at least 2020 (give or take).

In the specific case of Skype, the most up-to-date official Skype client for Android is still supported on versions of Android as old as Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.3) which dates back to December 2011. That particular trend would suggest that Skype would have a reasonable chance of continuing to run on Nougat devices in 2024.
