Those new round of pictures are really making this phone look attractive! I am wondering how navigating the phone will be using the trackpad, how will that work exactly? I'd love to see a demo video or hear someone's experience using it.

Things that will win me over from passport:
    - Toolbelt navigation, is this thing really speedier or just a stop-gap for people coming from BBOS?
    - Price, the passport is probably going to be very expensive, I am hoping the classic gets more a mid-tier price point

I love the form factor and keyboard. It reminds me of my first and fav bb the curve 8530.

The classic does look quite nice. I would take it over a passport i think if i wanted a keyboard device. nothing wrong with that!

Has there been any information released about how the took belt will be implemented? I keep reading different things about customization, what the back/bb buttons may do. Is there anything concrete out there?

If the menu and back button work like android ones for android apps. That alone is a big plus over Q10 !

I'm so pumped about the probably midrange price, non 1:1 screen, tool belt (if the software has been sufficiently developed,) and finally using a keyboard after months typing on Z10 glass!

I'm not sure I'm clear about whether this phone is essentially the same as the Q10 or a Z10? That is with just the added tool belt.

    Or neither?

I was totally hot for the classic until I heard the rumoured specs. Too bad it won't have the specs of the passport. Maybe I shouldn't judge a book by the cover but the passport is still looking prerry ugly no matter how many pics I see.

I have no problem with the specs on my z10 for what I use it for.

I almost curious to see how the toolbelt will be implemented.

It's more than "slightly bigger", it's 3.5" vs. 3.1", and that works out to almost a third more surface area.

Almost exactly what I was going to say. I'm an all touch device kind of guy, but if I wanted a keyboard phone the Classic looks great.

if we were talking about width yes but its not,its diagonal. it works out to 2.19" wide vs 2.475" so surface area is 4.8" sq vs 6.2" just a little better than 1/6 larger

I'm totally undecided, but accept that it's time to retire my faithful 9900 after 3 years plus service. It's getting tired and the lack of new OS's for BL to Hybridise is a pain.

When I first heard about the Classic I thought that it was an ideal replacement, but the more we learn about it the less appealing it gets and the Passport becomes more appealing.

Guess that I will sit on the fence until the devices are released and see what the informed opinion is here on CB before making my decision.

I like to keep my phones for 2-3 years so it is important to get it right !!!

Yeah, hard to commit to much before actually getting one in hand. I, personally, feel that referring to the Q20 as a "classic" was a mistake that raised hopes for a full function 9900 replacement. The term "classic" inevitably invites comparison. Unnecessarily so, IMO, since the Q20 looks fully capable of standing on it's own merits without comparing to anything else. It's not a 9900, irritatingly so. BUT it does provide a BB10.3 device with the single most valued feature of the 9900. A feature that, in my limited experience, at least 1/3 and maybe 2/3 of existing Q10 users miss. That, in itself, will assure it's acceptance, if not success, IMO.

My 9900 is showing it's age. Of it's valued features, the tool belt is #1. Q20 might be our only option for a while.

So what're the chances this has the same "double typing" issue the Q10 and Bold 9900 faced? The keyboard looks exactly like the Q10 keyboard so I'm kind of worried. I'm looking to upgrade but I'm worried either the Passport/Classic will have this issue.

i would say slim. i believe they corrected the issue already on the newest versions of the q10. hopefully they don't make the same mistakes on the q20.

Was that a hardware or software related issue?

Double typing issue on the 99XX? Are you serious? As far as the Q. I had an issue. For about 2 weeks. Then it just stopped. I can't think of anything I did or didn't do.

Kevin stated that the keyboard was redesigned. Meaning it is a hardware issue.
