I just finished the autoloader for the new software release on my Classic; I was wanting to do a nice clean install. Before I return to Blackberry Link to apply my backup I was wondering if I should do a soft reset, hard reset, or factory wipe via Blackberry Link.

Will a factory reset wipe the newly installed OS? Please advise...and as many details as possible, I am not a genius here. Thank you in advance.

What good is a "good clean install" if you reload a backup? That foild the whole concept.

A wipe cleans user data only. Not the OS.

Anyway, no action is needed after the autoloader is done (but it is likely you'll need a whipe if the restore brings in any incompatible settings/apps/bugs).

I got a bbq10 sqn100-5 which had update 10.2 and kept saying it was updated to latest version when I've read it can update to 10.3 but I did this with the autoloader. Only thing is when I did I lost all my core apps such as assistant, movie, music, and gallery. And I never made a backup beforehand. Any help?
