I would love to hear a good reason why there would be screen rotation on a square screen.

Well, on the Passport there is a good way to use it. The screen being squared, indeed, by holding the device to landscape with the keys to the right for example, you can read a long text and while reading, swipe with the fingers up and down the key rows (i.e. the freats) to scroll the text. Seems very elegant and efficient.

Though, I don't use this method. I prefer keeping my Passport as it is and scroll by typing on the space bar to scroll "screen by screen"

Or, when you just let your phone stand in front of the RPM clock on the car dashboard running Flitsmeister or a Satnav eg with the charger plugged in. It fits when laying on its side, it can't rest on the charger cable plug though.

Started using it like this with the Priv. No back on a Classic fully surprised Its screen doesnt rotate meaning the info remain 90' rotated.

Any auto store/ fuelling station has numbers cell phone holders for approximately $7 that fits any car that will rotate vertically horizontal or diagonal.

Of course. Snapping it against the windscreen is always an option. Also a clear catch for the Gendarmerie to stop you to see what is running:-)

Tried using it on the passport but it gets annoying when it rotates when you DON'T want it to. sure they could update the classic to flick the trackpad in landscape tho, but they wont

That's the nice thing on the Priv. There is a button yes/no rotate in the settings. Option to make your own choice is always better.

Anyway, guess need to live with it as neither PP nor Classic gives the impression of getting any future functional updates.
