Frequently my Classic will pause with a black screen for 10-20 seconds. The keyboard keys will often be lit during these periods.

Anyone else have this issue?

I do frequently use the Classic in cold weather. The OS is 10.3.1.1154 and I don't have any particular app or set of apps loaded or running headless when this occurs.

This has only happened to me when I was looking through my photos (over 1400) and deleting several of them. I was moving pretty fast through them and deleting them using the keys and trackpad. I think that in my case it was because I was moving too fast and the phone was taking a bit to read and display the next image. The screen was dark for at least 10 seconds. I closed the picture app and reopened it and it was back to normal. This only happened three times, and it hasn't happened since.

Mine does the same thing a lot. I think the phone doesn't have the horsepower to handle some apps or tasks. It works fine for doing simple tasks like send texts or emails.

I don't even have the Classic been really thinking about getting it but I don't understand posts like this being under powered I have the Q10 and I don't run into problems like that and if they are the same under the skin why does the classic struggle so much getting kinda scared to buy one. I might just wait for that att passport I think the extra chin on the bottom will help with typing. But I just really wanted they track pad and miss the buttons I used to love jamming the end call button lol

My Q10 doesn't have any issue such these.. did you try a reboot or security wipe?

When I open apps and we are not going to get into the android apps that take forever to load.its a beautiful phone but its not powerful enough to handle apps.i guess I am so used to using fast phones that I can tell how slow it is

Mine had lag (only enough to notice as lag) when I first got...but a few weeks in as daily driver it seems to be smartening up. Or, maybe I'm just not noticing anymore? Lol.
Give it some time, see if this happens for you too.

Usually occurs when trying to unlock phone in cold weather.

Very curious whether fresh install of OS would help, or whether it's hardware related like the gpu struggles to render unlock screen.
