BlackBerry Classic is hands down the best phone I've ever owned. And I came back from a Xperia Z3 Compact. Just need to sideload two apps and I am all good to go (g-map and Line)

This is truly the best device ever. No issue with the weight after you get used to it

I find that I still need to adjust to the fact that the toolbelt is back, but I am getting there

The keyboard...oh man, best keyboard ever, comparable only to the 9900

All in all, I am surprised that I love the phone so much, since it reads underspeced on paper. But I have no issues so far with it...

I don't have the Classic but i had one in hand today.. and ya.. real nice. As for the weight.. i like it.. i like the feeling of something in hand. If i had to replace my Z30... i still think i would want the Passport. But the Classic is nice!!

If BlackBerry can squeeze the power of passport into the next Classic while keeping a similar form factor..they will have themselves a real winner!

what would be awesome is if the US Carriers like AT&T and Verizon would get this phone out to their customer bases who have been anxiously awaiting the damn thing since November!

I received mine today. I read a lot about the laggy behaviour and so on.
I have a Passport and an iPhone 6 too.

I use OS 10.3.1.2072 on both BlackBerry devices.
The Passport my be a little faster, especially on Android apps. But for me it's no big deal.
The form factor of the Classic and it's keyboard makes it best!
It will choose it as the next standard device in our company, replacing the Z10 and Q10. The Passport is to big and too expensive.
The Z3 is just a joke (Display, no 4G, 8GB RAM...)

All I can say is, that the Classic will get my main device.

I actually don't like the keyboard. Sometimes it works find and feels smooth, as if my thumbs are just sliding. Other times the keys feel hard and almost chore-like to continue typing. It's weird because you either can't work with a keyboard or you adapt to it. However with the BlackBerry Q10 and the BlackBerry Classic sometimes I felt comfortable with it and other times I didn't.

I like the q10 keyboard a lot better. Classic has too much spacing so slows things down a bit. Plus the q10 and passport texture has a lot more similarity than the classic which is rather slick.

whilst i agree with you... the best phone i've ever had was the Curve 8900 pure 2G goodness followed very closely by the Bold 9700 my first 3G device. i was still using (on & off) the 9700 up until jan 2014 when i traded for the Q10. still use the Q10 and just on 1 week with the Classic.

Compared side by side, i err towards the Q10 that glass weave swings it .... for me anyways.

The 8900 was my first BlackBerry, and the one that got me hooked. That device was definitely one of the best. I still have it too.

For some reason AT&T and VZ always take forever to release BlackBerry products. Funny how there is no delay releasing Samsung or Apple products....

Personally I like the Q10 better also. I don't see a need for a tool belt. I get it though... BlackBerry is trying hard to get Bold users to upgrade.

I agree with you. Devices should be differentiated by the hardware specs, not by features. This is what Apple does so well. Same software, same features across all their phones. Only differences are storage capacity, screen sizes and perhaps the processors.

BlackBerry needs to bring the same technology from the Passport to the Classic (e.g. more mics, natural sound, "scrolling keypad", etc)

The Passport should get the tool belt, keyboard shortcuts, and whatever else from the Classic.

Lastly, bring back the Pearl with high-res screen, nice auto-focus shooters, excellent audio, etc for those that prefer a slimmer profile with BlackBerry security.

I am one of the many who are waiting for Verizon to release this phone. I have my card ready to get it the day they finally decide to release it (if ever). I for one love the tool belt and while I enjoy the Q10 there are plenty of times that being able to use the trackpad to scroll or using the physical call and end keys are much easier for me to use. HURRY UP VERIZON!! lol
