There are general reports of gaps between the tool belt and the screen which emits 'light bleeding' with the back light. The tool belt is also described as being 'loose' as is the space bar which creaks occasionally. Overall the quality of the hardware has been hit and miss with some people experiencing no problems at all whilst others have keyboards which are so loose that the user has returned the phone for a warranty fix.
There has been one user who had a dead battery from the beginning (the device never turned on) and another who had their screen go completely dark after two weeks of use.
There has also been a frequent report of sporadic double typing amongst all BB10 phones, including the Passport. This issue is generally thought to be a software issue and is infrequent enough to not affect the overall functionality of the phone.
Personally my Classic has experienced very sporadic double typing which hasn't gotten any worse over time (actually it seems to have fixed itself). My keys are fine during the day but at night when the back light is on I can see that there are minor inconsistencies in the gaps between keys. My tool belt is solid with no movement but my space bar is a little bit loose but I've gotten used to it now.
It seems overall the build quality isn't fantastic, but the minor issues people have noticed rarely result in anyone actually sending the device in for repair or replacement.
I don't know, maybe there are other issues that I've left out...

It seems I share an exactly same classic as yours! I can relate to all your issues. Yesterday I noticed my spacebar was a bit loose and made a creaking sound but now it's kinda ok. Dunno if this problem will persist but it sure is annoying. Makes the device feel cheap and poorly built. Not cool!!

Thank you all for describing the problems so beautifully. I am planning to buy a new BlackBerry Classic. Thanks again.

do you think it is worth waiting for BB Classic White???? Are this issues supposed to be fixed on new device??
Or is it worthless waitign?
Call history of 150 calls in 10.3.1. Very disappointed with BlackBerry from this. They should update call log history same as 30 days call log as soon as possible.

Coming from a powerful phone (Nexus 5) this phone feels a little underwhelming in comparison . I really miss the physical keyboard and I love the Hub so it's still a good experience. I would prefer a great experience. To do that I would prefer a 4:3 display, Passport specs, and Lumia 930 camera. I would happily exchange my paycheck for one.

I have had my Classic for a bit under a month and have not found any of the hardware issues reported here. (lucky I guess). .What I have encountered will seem like the most bizarre issues but believe me it is very annoying.
When the phone is paired with my car Bluetooth there is one phone number (happens to be my home number) that won't dial or receive. The phone rings at home but the call is immediately dropped. I have tried using the contact list and also by direct dialing the number. same result. Also won't receive calls from that number.
This is the only number where the problem exists (at least so far).
I had no problems with my 9900 and the problem occurred again in a rental car yesterday so I am sure it isn't my car's fault and must be the phone.
Anyone experience anything like this?
Lag, Lag, Lag. Blackberry finally made the device I want but they underpowered it. I would gladly pay more, but give me JUICE!

I've had a few Classics. One with a crackling phone speaker, one with a bunk trackpad that worked at about 10%, but the current Classic I own is pretty spot on. Something I've also noticed during heavy, speedy use for let's say....5 minutes at a clip, app to app, call, text, email...really blasting the device, that some screens will freeze. It might be the home screen and not let me scroll into the hub or the call/end/BB buttons won't do anything. Frustrating as it's generally at the time when I'm in a bind and need to communicate.
Well, this is a new one for me but over the last couple of weeks I have been experiencing increased instances of double typing! Annoying!

Nothing wrong here so far, love my classic.

You will find a lot of apps not optimised for the classic, especially ported android apps, which renders the tool belt useless.

Can you stop it already with your gap!
We get it...you have a gap and it annoys you. Period
