Anyone know when the price of the Classic will drop? If my memory serves me right, I think the price of the passport discounted to $399 at one point. I'm under contract and can't really afford to buy it unlocked ($450 + tax). I can probably pull off $275 to try it, but not willing to pay retail for older hardware specifications.

Price changes are anyone's guess. We can all hope but until the announcement arrives there is no easy way to know. Maybe the marketplace forum will have one for sale at a price you can manage before the official price is lowered.

You can get the Classic for 349,-- Eur already where it was listed at 419,-- a few days before. This is a undervalueing the device a lot and will get a lot of people angry that bought for a higher price.

However, even the PP's price dropped by 150 Eur at some places.

On the contrary it makes both devices more affordable and I hope people will decide for either one.

I've talked with a number of carriers here in my area and the feedback I've received from them is both the Classic and Passport are doing "pretty well".

When I asked what that meant, they said it's better than they expected. The Passport has surprised them more than the Classic.

So it's doing well, but people aren't breaking down the doors lining up for them.

Given the Z10 reactions when they first came out being "not as good as expected" this is an improvement which gives cause for some optimism.

We will see at the next earnings call. Whenever that might be.

Yes, but hey that's not a big problem like in old legacy BlackBerry devices.

In BlackBerry 10 you can change the layout in Settings. So even though the physical key is Z, it will type Y.

This wasn't possible in my old QWERTZ BlackBerry 9900
