I do not want my Classic to charge constantly while connected to Blend on my desktop. Is there a way to disable charging but continue to allow the data connection?

When you first connect device with latest OS it will give you option to charge, access SD etc. These options are visible on the phone screen. If you aren't getting that option delete device from desktop devices and hook up to PC again. It should prompt you.

    No, there isn't.

Charge but no data is possible, but not the other way around.

Charging constantly is not really an issue if that is what you are concerned about. The charge circuitry stops when it is full and when near full slows to a trickle. Generally if it is not overheating then there is not much need to worry about over charging. If the phone or battery is faulty such that leaving it charging causes an issue then by not charging it fully all that is being accomplished is masking the problem and maybe making the faulty hardware last a little longer than it would normally.
