Honestly I think BlackBerry should Ditch rubberized backs for their premium devices. The glass weave heck even real carbon fiber should be used for the final product. Looking at the back of the phone Chen was holding the device looked cheap in comparison to my Q10. Heck the Bold backing looks more premium than my Q10. I know That this may not be final hardware but I think this is true. Same thing with the Stainless steel ribbit running across the back. Those should be bold indications of premiumness.

Bolds were not more premium than the Q10 in materials. The backs feel rubberized because of a coating over the glass weave. You don't want exposed glass weave. It's literally like a fabric. The coating is to both keep it together and so it has good grip in your hands. Notice the phone doesn't slip out of your hand like other phones do. I love that. I hope they use the same material for the Classic...

For me... even my z10 has a nice grip... although the Q10 feels better

Who knows, maybe they'll end up using a different material altogether. Rubber back cover looks bad though IMO, especially for a very premium device.

Glass weave for sure. Love it on my Z30. Has that premium classy look. Dimpled rubber is fine on the budget Z3 but I don't think it should be used on premium devices.

I think BlackBerry offers us a CHOICE...

Maybe some of the many accessories that Chen mentioned are different type of replaceable back covers. The one shown in the photos looks like the default rubber type. Something like the Z3.

Possibly they are also going to offer glass fiber and leather backs. Would make much sense for me.

Edit: Oh, and BTW lui, I forgot to mention this before, but you actually don't want them to use real carbon fiber. Carbon fiber would act like a faraday cage since it is a conductive material and would actually interfere with the phone's reception... That's why they went with "glass weave" because it's similar to carbon fiber in that it is strands woven together like a fabric, but they use glass strands. So it's like a mix between fiberglass and carbon fiber... It's basically a carbon fiber that will not interfere with your reception. And fiberglass is stronger than sheet metal by weight, so the glass weave battery door of the Q10 is technically stronger than a sheet metal battery door of the same weight...

Grip over style. I drive with my Z10 on my big *** arm rest in my truck and it doesn't slide anywhere. My Q10 on the other hand lol I often search for it
