It's not that we'll be able to do anything revolutionary with the trackpad and tool belt... it's that we'll be able to do many things more accurately and faster.

I just don't see why you need a track pad when you have a gesture based os.

Maybe for doing Windows, XL etc but you could just get a stylus.

Well good for you that you don't see the need for it. Don't buy the device then. :-)

So this is just another Concept, sorry if it has been posted before. The reason I'm posting this is because i think the Blackberry Q10 Should have looked like the one on the RIGHT and the Q5 should look as is. This way there would be more incentive to grab the Q10 over Q5. If the Device on the Right got released i would buy TODAY.

3.5" Screen with almost no size increase

    Attachment 275706
    I would buy that.

I've only used curved qwerty BlackBerry's. The 8520 and the 9810. Will Q20 be curved or straight? Anyone used both styles of keyboard and prefer one over the other?

I like the shape of the Q5 - I wouldn't mind if the 20 had the modern look to it.

I prefer the smile, it's more comfortable for typing although I'm not sure I'm any faster with it. Very subtle difference... not enough for me to choose 1 phone over another but the curved keyboard from my 9900 is better for me than the straight keyboard from my Q1.

I've used both. The curved was easier and faster to get accustomed to it, but you get used to the straight keyboard as well. And the upgraded specs and BB10 make upgrading from those legacy devices a no-brainer. The curved keyboard is such a trivial sacrifice for all that is improved. Especially once the toolbelt makes a return.

I've heard it's curved, but nobody that isn't under NDA knows for sure.

If it is released for AT&T, I'd trade my work phone for a Q-20. As for why I'd want the belt and touchpad - because it is my personal preference.

In sure I'll like typing on the Q20 better than glass no matter what - thanks for the perspective on both designs.

Um, I would just brush that off as being another render, but honestly, I've never seen a toolbelt like that before, and another little detail with the usb port on the bottom isn't something usually done on renders... Can I ask, is that an actual image? Or is that a render?

No problem. My first BB device was the Bold 9000. And prior to that just used dumbphones. And even never having typed on a phone before with full qwerty, within the day I was typing super fast on the Bold 9000 keyboard. Bold 9900 was no different, I think I was faster on that than the 9000. When I got the Q10, it took a little while. I could type OK from day one, it isn't THAT different, but it does feel a bit different than the curved. But now that I'm used to it, I can type just as fast as before. Perhaps if you really want to measure it, maybe I might be like 1 or 2 wpm slower, but it's pretty close. I wouldn't say I'm faster though...

But again, it's more than good enough, and a million times better than typing on glass... And yes, I've tried BB10's virtual keyboard, setting up my mom's Z10. I suck at that keyboard, lol. And it just doesn't feel as "satisfying" as feeling the clickity clicks... ;-)

I like how lazy they were when simulating the screen image on this one, lol, they just shrunk the same one they used for the passport. :-D

We see in another photo of the actual device it will not have a software call icon (since it'll have the button) and it'll have 5 icons across but only 3 rows like it is now. :-P

A question about the Q20 and all square screen BB10's: is it true that android apps and other apps won't run on them because of the screen size?

I really want a slider for that reason. Something with the kb of a Bold but a screen lime a Z10.

But I'd be excited for the Q20 as the next best thing if it runs the majority of apps.
