Passport or classic?
Hi guys,
I recently got a passport and I am not sure if I should return it for classic.
I am used to q10 keyboard and passport typing experience is very awkward for me. I know I need time to get used to it but I am too used to q10. I do like the screen size of passport and snappy processor though. I wish classic had same spec as passport then my decision would be so much easier. Anyone would to classic from passport?

If the keyboard is your only concern then give it a few weeks and you will be typing without looking.

Sounds as though you'd prefer the Classic. I was a Q10 owner before purchasing the Classic. Couldn't care less about the faster processor in the Passport. The Classic performs well enough.

I had the Passport for five months and bought the Classic about one month ago. Main reasons: Size and keyboard. IMO typing on the PP is by far not as smooth and fast as on the Classic!

How you like your classic so far? Do you miss any of passport features? I know that classic processor is couple years old so I don't expect to be top performer but still faster processor is always beneficial.

Passport of Classic?
What I hate about the Classic, the Passport delivers(power and speed, bright screen, battery life). What I hate about the Passport the Classic delivers(tool belt, size and comfort, feel).
Tough choice, I keep switching every two weeks and can't decide which is better if I only had to choose one.

Hey frosty
Would you take classic if they had same spec?

I have been using the Passport since the release and just received my Classic today. All I have done so far is remove it from the box and start the updates. Will know more after a day or so I guess. Seem plenty snappy but I can see the apps on the Passport open much quicker. Will see over the next couple days how it feels. Definitely can be used one handed though where that is very difficult for most things on the passport

In my opinion it is not as snappy as the PP but it does never "lag" or enerve me. I never looked back!

For me the solution is finish passport and do classic with a litle more screen and speccialy the passport specs!

Any way you can have both?

Would be nice to see them give us the better processor And more ram in the classic body. Who knows maybe that's what will come out later in the year.

Exactly why i didn't buy the classic. If the Passport processor and ram was in the classic...SOLD
P.s camera too

Ugh.. just have to wait for classic type of device with beefy specs :(
For now I may have to stick me passport.

The size of the Passport definitely takes some getting used to, and not everyone is prepared to do that.
For me, it was worth the time and the patience. I've come to prefer the Passport keyboard over the Q10's. The performance is really nice. One fairly important point: Video on the Passport still seems kind of small. On the Classic it would be even smaller. If you watch a significant amount of video I'd consider that.

I purchased the pp on release date. Very powerful and eye catching phone. However it didn't fit my lifestyle. Way too big. Traded it for classic. Classic is a great phone with some inconsistencies in my experience. No regrets tho.

Yea.. maybe I should get both :( haha

Quite simple:
Regardless which phone you end up buying, you'll always wonder if you should've bought the other one.
I own both, the Passport and the Classic and I tend to go back and forth between those two. The Classic is more comfortable to hold, the keyboard is IMHO more enjoyable to type on.
The Passport on the other hand has the impressive screen and battery performance. The keyboard is more spacious, yet I prefer the traditional 4-row layout of previous BlackBerry devices over that new hybrid keyboard.

If you are accustomed to more one-handed use and that is important to you, Classic will be the best fit. Passport is pretty hard to one-hand unless you have pretty big hands. Except for heavy typing, everything can be one-handed on the Classic. It's bigger than the Q10 but shortcuts and toolbelt helps a lot.

Only gripe with classic is its battery (when compared with passport).
But problem with passport is its size. So need to choose between the two devils. Good luck.

I've had the classic for a couple days now and I'm sending it back. Guess I have got used to the Passport keyboard as I like it better. Like all the swipping ability as well. The classic is better for one handed use but you will notice the speed difference between the two. Classic is a great phone but I think the Passport suits me better.

This coming from a passport and classic user.
Both devices have their merits for different people.
For me, the classic is a great email device, work device and....dare I say it?!?! PHONE!
No,its battery life isn't as long or the screen as dense with pixels but it does what it needs to do with ease.
The passport is also great for those same reasons plus, a media player and spreadsheet reader, document composing, and it's got a beautiful screen with great speakerphone and it's super quick for higher system usage tasks like photo and music editing.
I now have both devices and find myself using the classic during the week and the passport on the weekends or intermittently throughout the week as needed.

Have same experience, got classic passport always felt little obtrusive, as I don't play much games and occasionally click pictures, the BlackBerry classic fire-power is sufficient for me, but only problem is battery life. Always need charging at the day end.

For me, I like the passport because the screen size and the camera, but I love classic because its like what we know about blackberry.. size, keyboard, typing in classic much better
