I wish my Android would STOP at typing double... It seems to prefer infinitely repeating a key until the text box is full....
You'd think touch-screen phones wouldn't have any keyboard issues. :P

If you're getting a BB10 device and concerned about Android apps, we're already off to a bad start.

If the Bold 9900 met his needs up to this point, the Classic should be just fine.

But needs have change. He wants all the banking apps, google maps, and some other apps from his profession.

Have had my Classic almost 4 months and no double-typing issues. Came from Bold 9780, took longer than I had expected to get used to the Classic but would never go back.

You are going to have to load Snap on his phone. Most banking apps will work fine. It will take him a month to know all the quarks of this phone.

Ordered a Classic for my dad today a little tensed because of the double typing that I have read. He has been using a Bold 9900 and it took a bit of convincing to keep him on BlackBerry. A little tensed about how the phone will run android apps as well. Hoping it's a positive experience. *fingers crossed*

Even if there is double typing, he probably won't experience the problem for a long time so no need to be tense.

"Double typing" is more of a problem with the longevity/build quality of the device.

I also have been using the Classic since release and no double typing issues and the Android apps that I use work well.

I haven't had any double typing issues...at least not yet. It's a really nice phone, I think he'll be very happy with it and you're awesome for getting it for him!

I notice that double typing occurs when I type too fast. When I slow down a bit and not rush, I get no double typing at all. I also notice that it is the angle that I hold my phone that affects how long my thumb is resting on the keys. So, I can't say I have double typing issues.

I absolutely love this phone. The build, display, heft and OS is so fluid. Am interested to see what ur dad thinks. My MIL was just given a Z10 as her first smartphone from us. She finds the swiping between screens, gestures to be intuitive. She likes the Hub, keyboard and even the voice assistant.
