Just found this little gem on "Snapdragon's Site" Seriously makes you think, I'm getting really excited after I saw this. Since many people said it was a 1.5ghz processor.

    Processor: Snapdragon 600 ( APQ8064-1AA) (Advertised as S4 Pro) 1.5 GHz quad-core Krait 300

    GPU: Adreno 320 (FHD/1080p) at 400 MHz
    Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/5 GHz)

Essentially the same processor at the "Nexus 7" I only bring this up because I saw a post about the "EOL for 10.4" and the Classic wasn't mentioned so I presume it will have a Quad-Core processor and not dual.

I might be totally wrong but the processor was made in 2013 and that sounds like BlackBerry.

EOL for 10.4 thread is, in my opinion, nonsense at best.

Classic is MSM8960, that's definite. Source: asked someone with one.

That's a pity to say the least, I was really hoping for a 1.5ghz quad - core. BlackBerry can't just keep re-using the Q10's and Z10 processor over and over again.

I'm still holding out hope despite the above comment I have faith BlackBerry won't put a 3 year old processor in a 2015 device (essentially)

So the reused Q10's is true huh?

God damn it Blackberry, at least get some specs from late 2013 at least.

Went to your site to check out the processor i was hoping for and here is what they said

"The Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064A is a high-end SoC for smartphones and tablets, which was introduced in 2012

The Classic is a re-do of the Q10 and thus it is a smart move that blackberry is re-using parts and saving some cash. Once the Classic is proven to be the right course of action, then expect better specs Classic 2 next year. Keep in my the Classic with that processor is still an upgrade to BBOS users.

Just another let down and another reason not to pre order without specs.

    MSM8960 1.5ghz and not MSM8960T 1.7ghz

Pretty much all hype for this device just died for me. I'll just buy a Q10 then lol. Can literally buy one for 150 used nowadays.

I don't see the big deal even if the classic shared the exact same internals as the q10, I have never witnessed my q10 bog down, even when multi multi tasking. Surely bbos users will see an crisp working phone compared to the bbos phones they are coming from.

This is about the phone maintaining fluid response in all of its daily activities more than how new the processor is. The Q10 has more than handled that and now the Classic features the tool belt that we all coveted on the legacy devices. I don't give a hoot if it has a quad-core. If that is your interest, spend your money on a Passport. I still carry a BlackBerry 9900 and aside from the browser, the phone is speedy and dependable. My private phone is a Z10 and even with a slower processor, it completely kept up with the high end phones in the market. Don't bring that Android spec war to this side of the tracks. It is $200-$300 dollars less than other flagships and I can leave with the average specs and their above-average returns.

its a mid ranged phone that isnt suppose to be top specs. Im not sure what you all expect this phone to be. Sure its not the fastest but I think it will get the job done just fine for its purpose.

    Finger trouble.

Specs just for the sake of specmanship is popular, but completely pointless.

Hardware specs do matter, but any systems engineer will tell you that it isn't what you have but how you use it that really counts. The BB10 OS appears to be quite lean and efficient, and that can win over an overbloated, less optimized OS running on a better processor.

That's what really matters, unless your raison d'tre is to brag to friends about your latest RazorBlitzen 800 octo-core...

I expected a quality phone. A next generation "Classic". Looks like a cheaper version of the Q10 with a tool belt. I don't mind paying for upper end specs. The 9900 was $699 when it came out.
