    OP - you do not have to wait for updates from your carrier. You can update yourself by downloading the most current OS and installing it via an autoloader or using utilities like Sachesi or DBBT (Darcy's BlackBerry Tools).

    Search on CrackBerry - you will find tutorial threads with instructions how to do this - and threads that can provide you with links to the updated software for your device.
