Its a real sleek design. I just dont like slider phones because if you are a heavy user, it always starts to **** up before the 2 year contract has even reached its period. Im all for it all being on one device.
That's another reason why I don't prefer sliders. I've never owned one, but everybody I know who has one the sliding mechanism would always eventually get all messed up on them.

On some devices yes.
But I honestly cannot recall a SINGLE Torch user saying that their slider mechanism broke.
I'm open to new data on that though, as always.
(Edit: The one person I know with a 9800 has been using it continuously for over 2 years as her only phone, never had a single problem with the slider. She just won a Q10 in a raffle, so this is the only reason she has stopped using it, as of about 5 days ago.)

Well, first, tell her congrats, make sure she loads 10.2.1. Second, while I'm glad to hear, I prefer to go by what I've seen, and everyone I know has had problems with sliders. But at the end of the day, even if it's guaranteed to work forever, I don't like having to do one more step to get the keyboard. Just personal preference. :-)

Just as I had seen on these forums a great desire for the trackpad and function keys to return, so too have I seen a lot of posters talking about their desire for sliders.
I'm waiting the Q1000
It'll be the true phone and mobile computing device.. large touchscreen, keyboard, pants and toolbelt to hold it all together ; )

As much as I like the charging points (and matching dock), there is one potential downside: they may not be able to convey the control signals that are conveyed over USB that communicate to the device the characteristics of the charger, ie when Battery Guru reports things like "Connected to Type2 charger". This can affect battery health since it may use that info to adjust the rate at which it charges the battery, for example.

I am waiting for a T-1000. It's going to be killer.
Do u think i should just buy Q10 now or wait for Q20 ???
If you want a trackpad and the function keys, wait. Keep in mind, it is set to be released in the 2nd half of 2014, which means anywhere from July to December. I would bet no later than August personally, but my guess is as good as anyone's.

I agree with matt damon, lol. It's up to you. I have the Q10 and with OS 10.2.1 it's awesome. With 10.1 it's just good. I love the phone but would love to have the belt back. Whether I buy the Q20 when it comes out depends on my financial situation...
So it's whether you don't mind waiting for it to come out, how important is the belt to you.

The 10 is a great phone but I will be getting a 20 when it comes out even though I will still be under contract. I miss the dedicated buttons more than I thought. While the OS is awesome, I like keys and buttons more than glass.

I did much better with the buttons too. Copy aNd paste havent ever worked well for me with the q10. And I had a slider blackberry to use for my UK phone this year, and having the recessed keyboard wasnt what i was looking for in a phone. I was glad I missed that blackberry.
I am really excited for q20, and when it comes out, you can bet i am dumping verizon. Huge mistake getting rid of tmobile. Huge.

Perhaps if they have more than 2 contacts.
The contact points are sorely missed as well as the smart USB capabilities that the 9900 had (slide it invite car cradle and the wifi would turn off, Bluetooth on etc), I hope they bring them both back.
The Q20 should keep the 1:1 ratio. All the mock Q20's with 16:9 ratio makes me think the Q20 is going to look like a miniature light saber. As to why a light saber? I'm asking myself the same thing.

I'm with you on this one. I love my Q20 but I miss those physical keys and trackpad for precision.
The Q20 will be the best transition for those die hard legacy users..
