Just rec'd this in the mail today. Ordered from Blueshop.ca @ 34.99 cdn.

I must say I'm pleasantly surprised. With the weight/size of the Classic I was worried that the pods size wouldn't be substantial enough to keep it stable. The truth is the opposite. The pod is quite heavy (probably equal in weight to the phone) and comes with a foam 'non skid' pad on the bottom. The angle of insertion is bang on and the phone glides in and out of the dock almost effortlessly.

Wish I had know this before hand, would have ordered two and saved on shipping!!

The only gripe I find with it, we'll mine, is that the word "BlackBerry Classic" is written on the bit that's not shown when assembled!

Overall, I share your sentiments. It's a great device. I love placing my phone on it to charge and then in Bedside mode... as that cool night clock look. :-)

It's very cool. I bought mine 2 months before I bought my Classic. I only worry about trying to find the "sweet spot" when putting my Classic in it.....don't want to mess up the port.

I'll probably just keep using my PlayBook charger and put my pod in my overstuffed BlackBerry drawer.

Yep I have a pod too for my Classic. My only gripe with the pods is that you have to keep taking the cases off and that's with any phone so I bought a couple seidio cases that clip and slide off.

The sweet spot I've found is to line up the space bar in the centre of the pod (left to right), works every time.

I'm going to have to buy two of these. Too bad the classic doesn't have the charging contacts like os7 devices - that would certainly simplify the placement.

I agree. It took away the worry of possible damaging the charging point.

Not having charging contacts is undoubtedly a step backward. It makes zero sense to me.

I know they didn't add back in some features from bbos, but those contacts and the convenience key seem like two glaring omissions. I had three for every BlackBerry and they were so convenient, practical and reduced wear on the port. Oh well, I'm sure there's a reason.

And why is the "BlackBerry Classic " logo on the inside where it's not visible!

I want to so brag about my Classic.. even whilst it's charging by my bedside. LOL

Do you own a sync desk stand like we are talking about? I believe you don't!

I see what you are saying, but had you owned one you would understand where I'm coming from.

Does anyone know if I can just buy the classic adapter since I already have the passport pod?

I also have the charging pod for the Classic, but like others have mentioned, have to remove the phone from the case that it's in to charge it on the pod. The pod itself though, is very well made. It's a fantastic, genuine BlackBerry product.

I bought 3: office desk, night stand and computer bag. I prefer to USB tether with my laptop instead of using the hot spot so the dock comes in very handy. Keep an eye out, CB had them on sale the other day for $19.99.
