Outlook not possible since I don't use it at all at the moment.

The only to think i use outlook for on my laptop is simply to sync my contacts on any phone i've had to it. Not only does it allow me to move contacts across various fones, i am also able to export my contacts from outlook into an excel format which i can move across laptops too. Think about it. Might be your easiest method.
