My keys are chipping on the sides on my classic. Mostly the spacebar key and the alt keys, but now some of the other keys are beginning to chip. I've only had this phone for 6 days. Is anyone else having this problem?

Edit: by chipping I mean that the black paint on the sides of the keys are coming off which expose light from the backlight. It seems to be happening to all of the outer keys.

What do you mean by "chipping"?

Can you take some close up pics?

So far I have no issues with my 2 month old Classic..

Had one Classic for 2 months, didn't have that problem, now got the AT&T version to get wireless charging, still don't have the problem. Post pics.

Are you using the 100-4 version? Older/Newer?

I think it should be a rule that when posting an issue, you accompany it with a photo. Otherwise you are hindering your chances for people to be able to help you.

But that is not a photo. What everybody seems to be asking for are photos. Photos.

My wife chips plastic off the car radio dial, the buttons on the steering wheel, etc. And if she had a pkb she'd probably chip that too. Because of her damn fingernails. And instead of using the pads of her finger she uses her nails. It drives me insane.

It's either sharp nails or some sort of solvent/gasoline on your hands when you type.

It can most certainly happen but after 6 days? Unless your fingers are made of sandpaper, I'm finding this hard to believe.

Well I have the same issue that the OP has written about, the paint off the sides of the keys which is inside is chipping off which is resulting into a lot of light bleeding from the keypad!
But my classic is almost 2 months old!

I haven't seen a BlackBerry keyboard without 'light bleed', ever. In the photo, I don't see anything wrong. There is always going to be little lines of light around the keys.

Your keyboard looks okay to me.

That looks like it from a pouch type holster. That happens as it rubs against the keys all day.

Yeah.. that's not what I would consider chipping in any way. I'm thinking more like this..

Made in.... I dont get it- why cant they make an ideal keyboard without double type, wobbling keys, lightbleed.....
Come on BBY, you are the only QWERTY Producer!
All my Nokias E71, E72 never got double type, no lightbleed nothing! it is still perfect

Didn't the old blackberries have double shot molded keys, or am I just making that up? I didn't think my 8800 keys were painted.

Hmmm, I don't think this is a "chipping issue". Almost all BlackBerry Classics that I saw are like this. Nothings wrong with that
