I have had both a Classic and a Passport and found that both of them have the same issue. If you use a different set of earphones with them it messes the microphone up so when making calls the receiver cannot hear me speak. The Classic was the worst though as even with a restart it never rectified. I had to constantly do a factory reset! Is this a fault with all Classics?

The fault most likely is yours. (I'm not trying to be mean) Hold the headphone jack that works and the jack that causes your issue side by side. Look closely at the rings around the jack and You'll see that they don't line up.

Marketing and companies have become so greedy that many headphones are made exclusively for their products, only.
You'll see what products are suggested on the packaging.

You won't find any listings for BlackBerrys but if you Google it, you'll get a list of headphones that are compatible.

The odds of the problem being caused by both devices could only be caused if you haven't been good, but bad.
    Santa doesn't miss a thing!!
