I like heavy phones. You can really feel the quality. Unlike those galaxy plastic phones.

I like the weight and most important it is perfect size where I can touch the upper left part of the screen with my thumb and not have to maneuver the phone. Love one handed typing as well.

I just went to virgin Canada and seen one today. I think my wife would have let me buy it for a Christmas present. What was I thinking? Anyway it felt and looks like a nice phone. I am really interested in getting one but with my q10 not dying on me or giving me grief it is hard to justify right now. So will wait a bit, sure was not to heavy for me felt really good and laying my q10 on it I realized how much more screen you are getting.

Well, at least you can use it as a stone to defend yourself and throw against your enemies. That heaviness is the key for your safety.

I think I never had a phone which was too heavy, so I can't really understand the fears of the OP. I was Nokia Communicator user, devices which very well could be used as bricks and even felt as heavy - no problem. It depends a lot on the overall design of the device. Also additional weight usually also means a more premium feeling to it. Personally I'd take a 180g cellphone over one with only 120g anytime. Taking a look at my current combo, the Passport and that Noreve leather case, I carry close to 300g of a phone with me. It works.

If this is dragging down one side of your suit coat, your suit coat doesn't fit right.
Not true. The weight of the classic will definitely wear out suit pockets after awhile, I'm predicting. It's like lead shot. Feels very quality, though.

I got my Classic today from Vodafone (Germany) and in my opinion it is not too heavy. Sure it is another feeling and weight than the 9900 or the Q10 but it feels very quality. Not like the Q10 which was a kind of "cheap" feeling for me.

Do this: walk into a Rogers store and ask to hold the dummy.

It might be heavier, but it feels solid and the added height distributes the weight in a VERY familiar way... it's so much like the feeling of Bolds of yore...

In a nutshell: it's not something that jumped out at me as "Whoa -- this is damn heavy". It was more like: "This fits in my hand beautifully and FEELS like a BlackBerry!"

I must say I preferred the weight of the Q10. I find the Classic a bit too heavy for its size. For one handed use the Q10 remains king.

Held it last week, and it feels heavy... however it underlines the great build quality. You feel like you have a real solid device on your hands. Loved it!!!

I've not had my hands on one yet, but at 48g heavier than my Bold 9900 I would regard the weight as a concern. People seem incredulous that this may be a problem for some, but surely Blackberry users of all people should understand that people have different tastes in aesthetics?

TechRadar for example have put up an early review listing it's first 'Against' point for the Classic as "Chunky & Heavy".

I will definitely be in the market for one and it may just feel great in my hand and pocket, but until I can judge, my initial thoughts are that the phone is heavier than I would like.

I have to say I'm very surprised at the large amount of puerile responses (on Crackberry of all places) to what at least seems a reasonable point of discussion.

I used to think the 9900 was too heavy coming from a 9700 which was very very light.

People always blame the battery for weight but I don't think that's true, the 9700 had a bigger battery then the 9900 and it was a lot lighter.
