On the issue of battery life

Greetings, I am going to receive a Verizon Classic very soon (the second, which coincidently is my birthday), that I purchased from a friendly member on this forum. Coming from an iPhone 5, for which I hesitate to use anything beyond 3G because it runs down the battery so quickly (5 hours at most), how good is the Classic's battery? Can I run the phone at 4G without worrying that at the end of the day, let's say 8~PM (my day begins at 6:30AM), the device will be "dead"?
Needless to say, I'm a "wall hugger" with my iPhone. And I dearly hope the classic will be different.

I easily get over 40 hours out of full battery charge. That involves 2 hours of talk time, aprox 200 emails and around 100 txt msgs. Wi-fi, bluetooth and 4g are always on

I have a Z10; my wife has a Classic -and I am EXTREMELY ENVIOUS of the battery life she gets.

Lol--coming from an iPhone the Classic will seem like a marathon runner. For the first few days of using a fresh OS, your battery life will not be all that great. But give it 4 or 5 days of synching and getting to know you, and you will be getting 2 days between charges with moderate use on LTE. I have never, not once, had to charge my Classic before going to bed.

8 am to 11 pm with moderate use is a normal day for me. At 11 pm, I still usually have around 50% charge left. You should get 16 hours of heavy use from it unless you are constantly playing games or using it as a GPS navigator.

Thanks all, that really helped to settle my fear. If there was one thing I hated about the iPhone, it was the battery life.

I send about 100 emails, and more texts and bbms every day.

Also listen to music, and use bluetooth headphones, and smart watch.

I take it off the charger around 7:30AM, and go to bed around 12 midnight. My battery is usually around 40-30 percent by that time.
