Hey, now that is actually a good idea. Not that I would want it much, but if it saved battery, I could see that being useful at times

I think magic number for Classic is $399 that would be the price point I think would make it a huge seller

I'm on my phone so can't find, but Ruslan or Dylan posted this week saying double type was not an issue and keyboard felt amazing, firm, high quality.
If that's the case then maybe i'll upgrade my q5 to it sometime next year if there really is no issue.

Always nice to see someone else thinking along the same lines. My biggest complaint of the 9900 was its inability to disable the annoying touchscreen (my cheek, ear, or pants pocket would frequently make unintended calls, edit ringtones, et cetera), a touchscreen that I NEVER found the need to intentionally interact with since the Toolbelt was more efficient and accurate, otherwise it was a near perfect design. It seems like such simple and common sense feature to add an option to disable the touchscreen. Something tells me that this feature won't be invented for the Q20 release, but if RIM reads these forums, maybe they will have an epiphany and provide Q20 owners with this so very basic and yet mandatory feature.

    ...if it has a toolbelt.

    Which it does.

So that means I'm definitely getting it, haha. Can't wait to have my trackpad and function keys back!

a lot of double typing issues on Q10 didn't occur until after about 2 months of use... so Ruslan having the Classic for 2-3 days doesn't really eliminate the possibility.

Well, according to Kevin a while back, they did find the problem and supposedly have changed the design.

If it's priced lower than the passport. It should be, right?

Unless it comes with Passport specs, it will definitely be cheaper. I can't say how much it will be, but I'm 99.9% sure it'll be lower in price. Let's hope that .1% doesn't come true, lol.

I have the passport and like it but mwill buy the classic aswell for times when I need a smaller device like night out etc.

However I'm worried about 3 factors.

    1. Battery life
    2. Screen res
    3. Speed
