Been using the Classic for a few days. Tried it about three months ago and wasn't impressed after a few days with it. So I decided to give it another shot and I am glad that I did. I gave the track pad another shot and it really is a breath of fresh air. The tool belt is awesome and the keyboard is well, awesome! There are a lot of threads about people and their Classic experience but if you are wondering if you should buy, the answer is yes! The battery, after the first charge, has been exceptional. The speaker, is actually not much worse than the passport. IMHO, this phone is a great tool and I feel lucky that I have the opportunity to use it day in and day out. The screen size is a little shock at first to get use to coming from the Passport but after a day, it wasn't noticeable. I got my Passport out today and the screen looked weird on it after using the Classic for a few days. I really can't say enough about the keyboard. I am already typing without looking and I am already faster than I was on the Passport after 3 months of use. Just wanted to say that if you are looking at a Classic, do it. You won't regret it. You will love the phone. Thanks and I hope everyone has a great weekend!

    blambtn,

Nice post. Just wondering now, what were your reasons for changing from a Passport to the Classic? Seems like there are a lot of people that make that change, even into the opposite direction too. The Passport is a great phone too; however, its form factor can certainly be off putting for some. I originally upgraded my Z30 to a Passport, but after three days with that phone, I went back to the store and exchanged it for a Classic.

Thanks! Yes, the form factor was the main reason. I carry my phones in my pocket and the passport just got on my nerves being in my pocket. The fact that I couldn't use the passport one handed was another issue. The PP is a great device and I would certainly love to own another one in the future but the Classic is for me. It will be my daily driver from here on out. Love it!

Yes it is!!! At first, I thought the tool belt and track pad were over kill and would get in the way. But it really has been a breath of fresh air and it actually works really well with the OS. BlackBerry did a great job with this device. I am really pleased with it. I have used BlackBerry devices for a long time. I ventured off at times but have always came back to the light. They set the bar for handsets and I believe they will be back on top again. But, they have GOT to MARKET their devices and the software.

I thought I could adapt to the Q5 without a track ball, but after a week I gave it up and order another Classic. Other than the 9900 it is one of the fastest typing phones. What I hated about the Q5 was trying to place the cursor in between two letters to make a correction. I'm back for good. Received it today first thing I'm doing is loading 10.3.2.2639

That's awesome!! Let me know how the leak is. I loaded it on my PP and the battery life wasn't as good.

I love having the trackpad or keyboard shortcut when I am scrolling thru websites and don't want to accidentally press the pop up ads open. Sooo helpful. I love my Classic. Had a Q10 and Z10. My first Classic did have double typing issues so crossing fingers this one doesn't. Otherwise, will get another one. Just love the form factor.

I went from a 5.5" screen of OnePlus One to Classic and after one day I got used to smaller screen. After a month I can say that I couldn't be happier with my decision OnePlus was like a toy phone compared to this beast with which I can actually do business and be a lot more productive.

I chose the Classic over the Passport because the passport felt way too weird in my hands. It was too square. The Classic feels just like my old Bold and does everything better. I just love it. Is it possible to marry a phone?

I'm with tmobile on the z10, I'm torn between biting the bullet and getting the classic,or waiting for the slider or if they get the passport. I know the other phones specs are better, but I'm not a big fan of huge phones. Z10 is perfect size, and I think the classic is fairly close to it

I loved my Zed 10. The OS was awful at first. If you love the Zed, you will love the Classic. The battery life was also bad on the Z10. However, the battery on this bad boy is awesome.

Loaded the 2639 leak earlier today. So I will report back in a couple days as to the battery life. It hasn't been too bad at first but the OS needs a day or two to settle in. So far, not too bad. Seems pretty stable. No bugs yet.

Yea I love the z10. Only other issue is I use my phone for viewing pdf files, spreadsheets, schematics, job site photos, invoices, etc. The larger screen would be ideal. Not sure if the 3.5" screen will fit my fancy for these purposes...
