If you want to use the Amazon store, I find this process pretty reliable:
-delete the app from the icon
    -reboot the phone
-go to File Manager / Misc / Android and click on the "update-release-xxx.apk" icon
    -let it finish installing
-click on Amazon store icon, wait a couple of minutes, and it should open.
-if it doesn't open try again

    This is annoying.

We should be able to delete this crap from our BlackBerry devices. Having this infection baked into the os is disgusting.

If I wanted an Android device, I could have got one!

I agree....I can't fix this. Some info needs to be gathered.
I made a thread about this in the General Discussion where there is higher traffic, but no replies yet.

    Hi Rioter,
You can delete the Amazon App Store with the help of the Chrome plugin.
But be aware, after restarting the device (for whatever reason), the icon of the application will still remain on the homescreen, though it won't get launched by tapping it.

I shouldn't have to jump through this many hoops to correct the problem. Its a glitch and "they" need to fix it and provide us with a restorative update.

Does it run in the background or something? I don't get the big deal. I have a bunch of useless carrier apps I have in a folder and ignore...
