That's just the way young minimum wage earners are nowadays.
Check your history books. This country was built around "young minimum wage earners".

People with silver spoons or never work during their first 16 years don't know what the other side of the tracks have to do just to eat.

I'm sure the 2 or 3 generations before you would roller over.

    Making that statement is appalling.

You know what I wish Blackberry shoppers would do on their trip to the store is to record an entire sales conversation with a unprofessional salesman. Then post it here on CrackBerry. It would totally stir up a lot controversy and makes a great discussion thread. Please someone on here go out and do a little secret shopping and show us real proof of what goes on at a Verizon or ATT store.
I am tempted to do that, but it's less obvious to just turn on my voice recorder app and record the crummy exchange. I have an AT&T store nearby the Verizon Procom store I mentioned (was told by someone they have the Classic on display there). I should try it out.

I'm only saying young people seem more disrespectful nowadays. You're the one bringing race into the conversation. Not sure where that came from.

It has already been made clear he didn't visit a Verizon corporate store, which was his first mistake. His second was complaining about it on a BlackBerry fan site, thinking that would somehow make it better.
You seriously didn't read or understand the pretense of the original post, eh? I shared an experience about a Classic demo attempt (on a Classic forum) and concluded with an open-ended engagement query to provoke a conversation: "Has anything similar happened to you, ever, when asking about a BB phone (or any phone)?"

And to eji930, go back and read the thread. I made it quite clear why I mentioned race, which is nothing near the assumption you have. Seriously, what's wrong with some of you here? Even when I provide clear reasons why a complaint to both Procom and Verizon are reasonable, and even when mentioning the race of the employee to easily I.D. the only white male working that day (for Procom's research purposes, which AGAIN I explain the aforementioned retelling was copied from my Procom complaint email), you all find something to attack.

Thank you to everyone who replied with their stories and suggestions and not being confrontational.

I can't speak for everyone, and I don't at all doubt what you say, but I know I wasn't like that when I worked at JC Penney back when I was 16. I feel that some people need to appreciate that they have a job and take it seriously, whether they are getting paid well or not, they should treat it as a learning experience. But I guess we can't all get what we want. I run into a lot of really poor customer service, but some really good experiences as well. It might be an issue with management too if they allow their staff to act that way and do not stress to them the importance of good customer relations.

Perhaps. I don't understand why people don't go through all the proper complaint channels first until a resolution is found, then share their experience on CrackBerry.
Ha, really? The world doesn't work the way you do things. If people want to fire off complaints to a carrier/partner store before or after sharing an experience on a forum, then so be it. It's of no consequence to you. None. Spazzy nitpicking exposes how much of a curmudgeon some of you really are (i.e. - "why mention race or why bring vzw into it?!"), and it makes this potential BB convert less willingly to engage in a forum where otherwise well-informed and friendly users meet to talk about BB. There is no reason to be a d*** to me.

Not doing that either. Just saying it's more effective to use the proper channels.

Seriously guys some of you need to chill down. What has Crackberry turned into lately? We're here to try and help OP find a Classic right and not bark at him and chase him away? Stephen_Victor did not make any racist remarks towards any of those sales associates to begin with so please don't even bring that into discussion because it's a very sensitive topic. ProCom is an authorized Verizon reseller so I don't see why the OP cannot complain to Verizon about his experience at an authorized third party store. A potential customer lost here for them and who knows how many more have been lost to this kind of unprofessional service that employee has done to people asking for a specific phone of their choice.

To BB or not to BB?

I retract my statement I did not mean to bring that to CB and my intent was not.

We should all be more cognizance on what is said, as the forum is read worldwide.

Blah blah, I just don't see why posting here what you expect VerHizon has nothing to do with this site so if resolution is what you truly sought why stop, if you wanted to share your story, a complete one sure (I guess) ....but I'm just not sensitive like many of you, who cares he laughed big deal you sound like a straight up ..... crying about to cancel accounts etc, when this is a utility bill, your only concern need be service and price quality. All the other stuff really isn't relevant.

When I go to a store, I already know what I want, it doesn't deter me from making my payment or keeping service because someone at their job laughed at my device, get a backbone Crack a joke back, like fool if we don't bu patronize the business you won't have a job.

You use this forum so clearly you are not the average consumer so why get all bent out of shape lmao. It's so not that deep. Again I'm more logical than emotional. Long as my device works and my bill is accurate, great network. I'm good, I never have to call any of my bills, I can manage all my stuff online, I actually prefer to deal online versus people. When I go buy a device locally, I already know what I want, I call before I go to ensure its in stock and I have my money ready in and out, I don't waste time EXPECTING to be wowed by someone making a hourly wage or salary for that matter, when as a consumer my PRIMARY needs are being satisfied, I can handle my own against some rude person. ...and minimum wage young people 0_o please don't try and count people's pockets, and last I check anyone can AND ARE earning minimum wage at ALL age levels, being "young" is relative. Minimum wage effects us ALL.

I just see the bigger picture in life. If I canceled contracts, etc. For every experience I wasn't satisfied with then I'd be flip flopping all the time.

The complaint you have can happen anytime, anywhere, any company, no company is exempt from a bad experience you can't please everyone, stop crying and go put time into real world issues ,like extreme poverty, and the American government .....

I just did the same yesterday while trying to buy a blackberry classic rather than just looking. I've been a loyal iphone user for 6 years. I am an industrial design student so when using apple products (as I learned more about design at school) that apple is, simply put, full of themselves and ignoring the needs of users to benefit their wallet. (i.e. Battery life, chargers, making it so you have to upgrade when a new OS comes out if you want to use those features because the previous model can't handle the new OS, etc.)

So yesterday I finally gave in, after doing a **** ton of research and discovering that blackberry finally may have a better operating system than they previously did. I would say after 24 hours there's definitely a few problems (compared to apple.) But compared to old Blackberrys: so far so good.

I went to best buy first, they laughed, realized I was serious and looked confused, and then said no. I immediately walked out and went to the AT+T store, when I asked them if they have any they didn't laugh but they kinda smiled like they were going to and then said no we haven't gotten any in yet. However, after saying i'd been to two places today looking for it, an employee using a store tablet looked up locations that may have the phone and found me a store within a mile radius of the store I was in, and told me they had 4 in stock there.

When I went to this store the man who was helping me seemed to be taken back when I said I want one of the 4 blackberry classics that they had in the store. I personally don't know if it's because I said 1 of the 4, or if it's because i'm a 20 year old female that isn't asking for an iphone or a galaxy.

However he did realize that I was very serious and continued to help me from start to finish in a very time efficient manner. (thank you Eugene from at+t henrietta!)

But yeah that's my story, and like I said so far so good as far as improvements go. But I still firmly believe that blackberry isn't really comparable to apple as far as functionality goes because they have different goals in what they want their phones to do, and yes apple executes their products to their product audience, but blackberry is trying their very best and don't seem to have the mecca of the best software engineers, engineers, designers, UI specialists. You name it apples got it, but blackberry's working on it and I have faith in them as a designer, and would love to have the opportunity to possibly work for them in the future and help their design.

Uhmm pardon my ignorance eji930 but did you miss the part that Stephen_Victor is currently using the latest iPhone?

Unfortunately not everyone who visits forums are as bright and informed as you are in terms of purchasing a phone. There's not a single company that has not received a complaint but complaints are what make a company to better shape its goals and policies. That type of behaviour towards a customer is totally unacceptable. Brick and mortar stores will learn it the hard way as more and more people are doing their shopping online to avoid dealing with bad customer services.

That's probably not a bad idea, minus the deleting part. Seems to be going downhill rapidly.
