Currently, I am absolutely loving my Blackberry Classic and have been getting absolutely stellar battery life, even with heavy browsing and constantly fetching emails!

It may look normal to some long-time BlackBerry users, but I came from an iPhone 5S and the battery on that thing would've have been drained by the time my BB has reached 50%

What are your battery performances like?

Coming from the passport im not a huge fan of the battery, haha. Especially spotify kicks his little ***. I can just make the day with it, which im not used to anymore. Not bad, but not overly great

Classic can last a day with moderate usage and 5 sync emails. Initially I can't do this, because of a few rogue android apps, after deleting them, resetting phone and battery life is really good.

I used Z10 before, and if compared Classic have worse battery life. I used Z10 all day and in 10 PM i had 20% battery life. On my Classic in the same usage in 10 PM i stably have 5-10%.
I belive, battery live on Classic bad because i used some android apps.

I switched from Z10 to a Classic. Battery life is much better. My Classic lasts 24h without problems, sometimes even longer.

    Greetings

Battery life is strong. Lasts 2+ days with light use, about 18 hours with moderate usage. Never had it not get me through a workday, even with rough reception.

For anyone whose posting the images showing slow battery drain, are your phones just sitting idle? If I did nothing with my phone all day then the drain would look like that.

@Xenolock; what measures do you undertake to squeeze that much battery life out of your Classic? What constitutes moderate usage for you, because moderate for me is letting it sync three e-mail accounts and checking the Hub every so often to read those and Twitter & Facebook messages. Throw in half an hour of internet and I'm struggling to last the day.

    I would call that light usage. What I thought I would get from the Classic is somewhere between the over-the-top heavy usage some posters like to mention;

" ...eighteen hours of looping HD video on maximum brightness whilst acting as a wifi hotspot for 8 other people, with seven other active windows open and miracasting the whole lot on a BBM group chat whilst someone else's phone leeches spare battery cycles from the Classic because, you know, their Galaxy S6 Edge can't handle more than 30 minutes before running dry. All this and the Blackberry is still only at 59% after two days."

    And something more realistic.

From what I've seen so far the Classic's battery is not that great. In fact I'd say its almost the worst performer of the smartphones I've used previously (iPhone, Nokia Lumia's). I really like the Blackberry, but its not the battery powerhouse I thought it would be, and perhaps that's due to the battery life of models like the Bold or the Pearl which ran for multiple days, comments like that stick in your mind when you're eyeing up a glossy new Blackberry in a shop window.

I was hoping for moderate to heavy usage and lasting a full day.

Does anyone have tips to help save battery? I feel mines drains more on power save more. I tried battery saving apps from the play store and BlackBerry but they're a joke

Are you using any rogue android apps that deplete your battery? Maybe deleting them and rebooting your phone might just work. Give it a day or two for the system to settle. Mine works okay now.

If you check cpu and after a few seconds Systems isn't hovering between 4.5 - 6 with everything thing else mostly idle, maybe seeing mainly 9 and above, it needs a restart. I captured below after a couple of seconds and is typical. Of course if you see an app dominating the top, it may be a problem app or a restart will deal with it.
I've found that using this as a guide I end up doing a restart once a week right when I put it on charge at night, so when it's reloading it doesn't inconvenience me. I have to say though that this latest OS loads fast. It was settled in a few minutes. As a result I have good battery life.

No battery saving mode and no Wi-fi, no Blend or GPS or Bluetooth or Hotspot. Only a few Android apps, none of which drain the battery (gotta watch out for them), and pretty much no games. Also, I have multiple emails on 10-15 minute sync instead of continuous sync. Brightness about 2/3. Advanced interactions on. I also use a cache cleaner every few days. My idea of moderate usage is probably about the same as yours. I also turn it off and let it rest for the night once every 2 or 3 weekends. The battery life has only improved since I first got it. 16+ hours of battery life is normal except under very heavy use.

I would check to see how much memory, cpu, and battery that Facebook and Twitter are using, and especially watch those Android apps.

About the same for me except for wifi. Does WiFi consume more battery than Network data?

Definitely not. Transmitting through a cellular antenna is one of the biggest battery drains on the phone, apart from games. Being on Wi-Fi nearly doubles my battery life vs. Low-signal or spotty network connection.
