HI guys - long term iPhone user and one of my favourite things about the phone is its smooth browser.

I am interested in the Classic, I am not too worried about the poor specs as long as the devices performs well. From my understanding its pretty fast all around but I have heard the browser can be pretty slow on some sites?

Browser works well - track pad really helps the clicking of the smaller things - where you would have zoom in to touch on the iPhone.

I'm not saying the browser is better, because the iPhone is a different experience. But the BlackBerry browser works well.

I like my iPhone experience, and I like my bbos experience. Both work very well!

Probably he had like one crash on Classic and zero on Q10 which is by definition way more often ;-)

The browser is great...fast, responsive, and no lag. I've been impressed with the browser on every BB10 device I've owned. Very nice on the Classic with the track pad added.

Okay I hate to be that person but...the browser is not objectively very good. Yes, it's better than BB OS7's, but that's not high praise considering that browser/OS is several years old. Saying it doesn't crash is great...but it's sort of a baseline expectation.

I currently use an iPhone 6 Plus as a secondary device (my SIM is in my Classic) and I have to say iOS's mobile Safari is definitely better (faster, smoother). In all fairness, it's also better than mobile IE11 on WP8 and in my experience, Chrome on Android.

I've noticed significant typing lag as well as significantly slow load times and jittery responsiveness. Now, all of this is a spectrum: some sites are worse than others, some are just fine. Some people may not experience it at all. But regardless, this is what I'm seeing.

Does it make regret buying the Classic? Absolutely not. Sure I wish the browser were better, and maybe with updates it will be. But there are far too many other reasons why I love this device to be terribly bothered by it. (Typing out posts like this on my phone, for example.)

This is interesting to me. I find safari to be the worst mobile browser available. I much prefer chrome on my nexus 5 or BB 10 on my z10 and q5 then safari on my iPad mini. I avoid the web if I only have safari available.

Well, I will concede that Chrome and even the BB10 browser are more *capable* browsers (file management being the key differentiator here), but at least in my experience, from a pure speed, rendering, responsiveness perspective, mobile safari has always been king.

The only other thing I'd note is that I've not used a Q5 and it's been a while since I used a Z10, but I actually don't recall noticing the same performance issues. Of course, this was nearly two years ago when it came out, so I can't speak to how it is today. Perhaps it's better on those two devices.

Sad thing is, I brought up the issue of the typing lag with the Q10, so it existed in the previous version of it as well. Hopefully they will optimize it further. 10.3.1's browser is definitely improved from 10.2.1 so at least they are going in the right direction...

Honestly, I never judge based on test scores. I judge based real world performance. It's great that the browser scores high in that test...but you can find others where it's terrible, such as the SunSpider Javascript test (http://www.webkit.org/perf/sunspider....2/driver.html ):

Totals (I don't have my Nexus or WP on me):
BB10 browser on Classic: 1,328 ms
Safari in iPhone 6 Plus: 386.6 ms

Point is, tests are artificial. All that matters is actual experience.

You are mixing up safari performance with hardware performance. Although safari is the best browser for Javascript the iPhone processor also boosts those scores. BB10 browser definitely needs to be better with Javascript because passport doesn't get great results either even with the great specs.

Just don't put your phone in desktop mode unless necessary. There's a reason why mobile sites perform better.

I have a problem with the browser... not sure what they have done to break this either.

I run a Q10 as a work phone and I just picked up the classic.

I do a lot of streaming online and streaming sites like vipbox, wiziwig, firstrowsports... these streams WORK on the Q10 and somehow DONT work on the Classic.

What have they done with flash video that made this happen? Why is my Q10 browser currently better then my Classic?? WHY??
