Tried searching this subject, but no success. How to silence or reduce keyboard volume when making a manually entered call on my Classic 10.3? You know like calling on a sign or restaurant and not wanting to share the annoying input tones with anyone else in ear shot. TIA, OCG

AFAIK, you can't silence the dialer without silencing your phone as well. So try putting your phone on vibrate, or turning notifications off.

Thanks raino, that works alright, just thought there might be a volume selection for keyboard entries as on older systems AFAIK. Would be nice to have a better work-around than silence, which can lead to forgetting and missing call backs. Cheers, OCG

I agree. They should provide an option to disable key tones.

But in the absence of that...would putting the phone on vibrate, combined with the blinking LED not work for you here? I find the vibrate strong enough on my Q10, and almost instinctively reach for my phone when I haven't checked it for a while and see the LED blinking.

Yes, but VIBE uses more battery, LED not so much and if phone is in the other room... anyway, love the Classic, just like to see this feature tweaked you know?
