Accidentally deleted a full day's worth of photos instead of just the one. Assume they are stored on the SIM card since all pictures disappear on the device on power down without SIM inserted.

How can I scan for and recover those files from my SIM?

Tried some file recovery programs but they can't see the BB drive as mapped on MS File Explorer by BBLink

    Thanks

Pictures are not stored on the SIM card. Do you mean SD card?

If you deleted them and continued using the card, then they are probably gone.

If you have not used the card since deleting them, you can try some flash media data recovery tools.
