Personally I don't like the name. Hoping it's only a internal name for BlackBerry not the final launch name. It just sounds too dull according to me.

I don't mind it, actually. It evokes good imagery for me... a tested concept in a modern shell.

Just find it too plain. Not catchy like may be bold, tour or passport.

Yup, not a fan of the 'Classic' name. I a lot of people didn't like the current naming scheme, but I think Q20 is way better than Classic. Oh well, it is what it is.

BlackBerry Classic are you serious ? It's the best name for this smartphone, now we got our devices without trackpad etc.. the classic of BlackBerry got it. Then it's normal BlackBerry call this phone "BlackBerry Classic "

While I don't think calling the Q20 a "Classic" is all that catchy, I don't mind it. However I would have liked to see something indicating the connection between the Bold line and the Q line such as Q20Bold or Bold Q20 .....

Giving it a name associates, and establishes a brand.

Not the biggest fan of the name. But, it is the right name in my opinion. This is the first phone with old style hardware and new software, and there's no better name to call it. BlackBerry classic will be the respect BlackBerry gives to legacy devices and their powerful past before the downfall, and to customers that loved the tool belt and track pad. I'm probably going to skip it and get the passport instead, but I will still respect that phone for what it is.

Chen took a poll of one and the Classic was selected.

I think it is a fitting name, as it is a new name and it still helps to remind people of the blackberry past glory.

Unfortunately it brings up the notion of Coke Classic, which is what Coke became after they messed it up with new Coke, a market flop. I say unfortunate because it seems to bring up the idea that the new product (in this case BB10) was a mistake.

the classic is gonna have bb10 also. the mistake was getting rid of the toolbelt.

Not a fan of the name 'Classic' I would have liked something like Bold because most people recognize the name Bold when it comes to BlackBerry. Or Q20 would have been good also. Oh well though, I will still be choosing the Classic regardless.

well, considering what my Q10 did for my perceptions of BlackBerry after having the fantastic Bold 9900, and having...... this........ well. Lets just say the coke analogy seems even more apt.
