Never had a Bold. My first BlackBerry was a Torch 9800 and my wife had a Curve 8520. We've both bounced around between iOS and Android. She's on a iPhone 6s and I'm on my Classic now.

I had a number of company issued BlackBerry devices, ending with a Curve, but never a Bold. I then had a Droid Razr on VZW. I was so "impressed" with the Android experience, I moved to a Q-10 once I was upgrade eligible. I moved to an AT&T Passport after the Q-10 and found it too big to carry. I picked up this cobalt Classic during the Black Friday sale. I'll probably stick with this until it dies, or BlackBerry comes out with something better.

I never had a Bold but I did have several Curves pre-BB10. I just got the Classic last week. Before that I used a Q10 and Z30.

I switched from Blackberry Q10 (Sprint) to Blackberry Classic (AT&T) - Sprint has dissed the Blackberry and they are only pushing Galaxy and iPhones. I first purchased the PRIV but I did not like it -- it broke on the third day, plus I do not believe it is as secure as they say it does, because you are forced to use GOOGLE SERVICES, which I did not know at the time. The PRIV is NOT a REAL Blackberry. I am very happy with my Classic - both me and my husband have the Classic with AT&T.

Never owned a BlackBerry of any kind. I'm really enjoying my Classic so far. I'm pretty OS agnostic as I own multiple Android and iOS devices and I wanted to get back to a PKB.

I think you're right. Most Classic owners probably used the Bold in the past. I'm guessing very few came from touchscreen phones.
Over the last 8 or so years, the phones i've had are: Curve -> Bold -> Q10 -> Classic

    Also, Gaudreau rocks!

I came from a Z10. Had a 9910 before that and a Galaxy S1 before that. Since my torch I've preferred the BlackBerry. Had the Z10 since launch and was waiting for the Priv, but lack of it coming to Australia and the expected price tag that it will have here saw me going for the Classic instead. 3 days into it and I'm glad I went with it and stayed with BB10.

My first blackberry is the classic. The last phone I had was an HTC and the one before that was an iphone 4s. Glad I made the change. Though I must admit the lack of some apps can be frustrating.

In some cases you can get by with a mobile web site. I use those for:
    • Google Hangouts (adequate, barely)
    • Facebook (alsmost as good as using my PC)
    • others have used various bank's mobile web sites satisfactorily

Never had a Bold. I did have a Tour, Curve and World Edition (I think that is what it was called). I really like the Classic and appreciate it's business functionality. This is a great business device.

I did not have a Bold, use a Curve years ago and wish I never left that phone. It was small, simple, and did everything I needed. I tried a Q10 but to many double typing issues for me. I really like the size of that device though. I came over to the Classic from an iPhone 6+.

I've had all of the BlackBerry's since the 7250. My personal favorite was the 9900, loved the curved (smiley face) keyboard. That being said, the Classic feels great and it is a workhorse. Only wish there were more apps available without using the Amazon app store.

Never owned a bold, but used to have a curve from AT&T years ago and loved it!

Most recently I had a OnePlus One.

Got tired of all the other "BS" on smartphones now days.

In my personal opinion this Classic form factor is the ultimate setup for work productivity.

Don't get me wrong, I have all the current gadgets and gizmos, but my phone needs to be business and the classic does that perfectly.

I will continue to buy this form factor if it is still offered in the future.

This is interesting. I had the Bold 9000, 9700, 9780 and 9900 and just assumed that the Classic lovers were all former Bold users.

I had an original Bold 9000, but I have had a number of other smartphones along the way:

Pearl 8120 (great phone and messaging device)
1st Gen iPhone (terrible phone and messaging device, good ipod)
Bold 9000 (great phone and messaging device)
    Bold 9650 (just terrible)
iPhone 4s (good phone and app platform, mediocre messaging device)
iPhone 5s (good phone and app platform, mediocre messaging device)
Classic (great phone and messaging device, mediocre app platform)

My Classic is actually my first personal BlackBerry. My last encounter with a BlackBerry was a RIM 950 then a RIM 957 during my desktop support work term many years ago.

I went from a Palm to an Android which I used for 2 1/5 years. I picked up the Q10 mostly for the keyboard. I have large hands and fingers. And I am outside part of every work day regardless of the weather. It is very difficult to use a touch screen keyboard with larger fingers and subzero weather. I will never own another android system. I love the BB OS. I recently got a Classic. I like the larger size screen. Hopefully I can keep it going or another similar Blackberry going until I retire in a few years.

The android is ok if you sit quietly at a desk or play games I suppose but if you are on your feet, in a hurry and just need to communicate through phone, text, email and documents they just fall way short. I see everyone making excuses for their bad behaviour looking at me like a caveman because I have a Blackberry.
