Is it possible to remove the blue highlight in apps like Facebook and Instagram? Turns all the photos blue when scrolling. Very annoying!

I don't think that it is possible to do so, since it indicates what the cursor is currently hovered over or what action is selected based on the app.

I can't confirm this since I don't have a Classic, but perhaps scrolling with the touchscreen instead of the trackpad will get rid of the highlight? Not an ideal solution of course, but just a thought.

You can't. Back in the OLD days you could create a theme with a clear selector.... I miss those. My ideal theme is black and white with text icons.

I use the screen and it still highlights images. This needs to be corrected either through an update or the apps. Can't enjoy the screen when the photos are all tinted in blue.

No answer? Getting ahead of ourselves lol......there needs to be a question.

It's all about the NOW not the THEN. Adapt, learn, or even change platforms altogether! But this constant comparison of "old" rim devices(which are still sold and work) to the new should have ended 6 months after 10 debut!

Let's compare mac os 94 to mac os 16 I mean hush already lol jeez

The first step here would be to reach out to the actual app maker. I find this annoying too as I use iGrann but admittedly I have not reached out to them. In light of this thread though I will do so now.

Make the suggestion to have options (outline vs highlight) in the beta zone.

I was referring to the question of "is there a way to get rid of the blue".
I'm new to the classic, but not to BlackBerry. I don't recall the highlighting being so pervasive in any of the previous phones I've had...ranging from storm through all of the BB10s.

    Here here.

This was one of the reasons why I ended up getting rid of the Classic.
I hated the blue tint over everything. Like you say it completely ruined everything on inst10 and FB, Twitter etc.

If a BB update fixed it in some way then I might look at the Classic again, Until then - nope.

While I don't use Facebook nor Instagram and cannot say whether or not this will work within those apps, but from photos and videos to Twitter, to the CB 10 app, I have had success of ridding the blue highlight by simply scrolling via trackpad to an option button, leaving it there, highlighted and then using the screen via touch to scroll across the screen. No blue issues...

In this screenshot I highlighted the 'search' button on Twitter and then used my finger to scroll... No more blue:
How can I Remove the "Blue" Highlight?-img_20150605_160846.png

And here within the CB10 app I left the trackpad scroll to the back key, used my touchscreen to navigate. CB10 sans the blue highlight:

Sucks a bit as i'd love to scroll without having to have that issue also, but for now this has worked for me. Again, I can't speak for FB or Instagram, but elsewhere it's worked.

Great idea Slag. I think this is the proper and would be the most effective route.

Is anybody found a solution about that? It is really annoying to have this blue line all the time. I don't know what the techies of Blackberry really though of.

I use iGrann and have had the issue with blue hightlight/tint across pictures. Yes, it changes the colour and is annoying. Just recently, I noticed in iGrann you can take the blue tint off a picture simply by swiping the trackpad right. Not sure if this is due to an update, or if I was slow to figure it out.

Unfortunately, swiping the trackpad right has no effect in FB, or even this app, CB.

Had a closer look again at what is happening when you swipe right in iGrann. Basically, this action highlights the direct message envelope at the top right, which is disabled in iGrann. Still, it works - the tint is removed.

Does the blue tint issue come up with PP or Priv?

That seems like the best fix, and it can be applied system-wide without any further developer input.
