Does anyone have any tips or recommend must have apps? How does one download WhatsApp on the Google Play store while it's still supported?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers.

Return it, sell it to someone dumber than you, throw it away or keep it for novelty effect and get a smartphone that functions by today's standards.

Find another thread to post in, register on another forum, try posting answers to people's questions rather than infantile, condescending rhetoric.

You should still be able to download WhatsApp from BB World, although that version may stop working in January. Failing that, you can download the Android APK from Amazon store, or look for Cobalt's Google Apps landing page on these forums, if you fancy trying the Play Store.

Apps I use the most are Monospace (free version) for note-taking, the eBay app (old version of Android APK), Parrot for voice notes, and Pocket for linking articles etc online to my Kobo eReader.

OneDrive If you have an outlook account Id recommend that from BB World.
Box is the other one that will work with your file manager.

Enpass is one I use for multi platform password management its native and on BB World also, otherwise the android app on the same store called Keeper is ok.

Authomator for 2FA login. Great app. I save the QR's in my Smart Tags app too for a backup of them.

Bloomberg has been a great BB app for news and markets.
    BBM channels also.

TextNow is on the Amazon app store I like that one and Fongo is on BB World.

Google Talk in BB World is Google Hangouts. It works just enable insecure apps on your google account if you have one.

Stock browser has a Reader Mode and Save Page feature in the options. Browser can play music, videos and read DOC,PDF,TXT and some other file types. It is easiest to search and find things you have saved with the
Assistant app. Assistant can take notes set timers and alarms or read aloud emails.

Parrot is a really great app above was mentioned but Remember will work for voice notes too. I use
Docs to Go with an Outlook Archive folder in my Hub to take notes. It has the most font colors, background text colors, and formatting ive seen in a typed notes app. The search and replace is great too and it will work with txt. Works just fine and I can get them anywhere.

I use Blackbullet (in BlackBerry Word) to send/receive links, files, snaps, between the classic and my other devices. You need to set up a Pushbullet account and install Pushbullet on the other devices (free).

This was a completely uncalled for and unnecessary comment. If you don't like the Classic, then don't buy one. But there's no need to troll people who do.

It never ceases to amaze me how far out of their way people will go to bash BlackBerry fans on a BlackBerry fan forum, simply because they use BlackBerry phones.

While a bit harsh, it's BB10 so think of all the BBAndroid trashing around here as well. It's like when BBOS was eventually buried alive.

    Congrats!

    The CB10 app is a must-have, of course: http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/23281874

    I also like...

    BeWeather 10 Pro: http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/20355003

    Bing Wallpaper: http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/49761888

    Gadget Box: http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/20353517

    gNewsReader: http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/21200129

    Post To Go: http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/51252921

    TuneIn Radio: http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/17105

Those aren't all the apps I have, but they're some of the stand-outs.

For Android APKs, I download them from the Amazon Appstore or APKmirror.com - I prefer not to have the patched Google Play Store or patched Google Play Services on my phone.

Enjoy your Classic! It's the only BB10 phone with a toolbelt and it does come in quite handy.

Hubby is a pretty useful app: https://appworld.blackberry.com/webs...ntent/59998023

    If you're into photography I'd also recommend Camera++ https://appworld.blackberry.com/webs...ntent/59348437

If you want to run WhatsApp Android you can grab it directly from WhatsApp,

Run through this app once it's installed,

    - Twitter (a native one from BBWorld)
    - FeedMinder for RSS (native)
    - Enpass for password management (native)
    - Kut for shortening links - for Twitter (native)
    - Backup Pro as long as Link is broken (native)
    - NSR Reader for PDFs (native)
    - Noted for notes (native)
    - ReadIt Now for Pocket service (native)
    - Neutron for music playback (native)
    - SoundHound (native)
    - CascaRun Pro for occasional activities (native)
    - ownCloud, Slack, Telegram from GooglePlay.

That stack feets my needs at almost 100%. As you can see most apps are native BB10. Despite they didn't have any updates since the stone age, they work. Amazing!

The Whatsapp version in BlackBerry World will not run as far as I know. Anyone who has it already is ok but not a new install. I don't know why, I'm a NotFan of Whatsapp so I don't care personally. The Android version works ok mostly, I believe. Doesn't have Hub integration though, too bad.

Call Pro for auto calls recording

Photo Studio Pro for image editing

    Clip Expert for clipboard management

    FastTube for youtube

KDE Connect (android version) also works well if you use Linux

    Snap2Share is very cool.
    Picmix also good.
    Turbo Reader
    ViSS

The Classic is still a great device. The Android Version of WhatsApp worksfine but don't forget to install the WhatsFixer. It enables you to send files, photo's and video's as well
