Thinking about just order the screen off ebay for about 100$ and trying to swap myself. The repair shop in my town wants 200$ to fix my shattered screen.

Ah. Didn't think of that. Just searched ebay. Found a few used one for 200-250. New looks like closer to 300$. Any idea what a BlackBerry Classic with a cracked screen would be worth? If I could get 100$ I wouldn't be opposed to just buying another classic for 200-250. Kinda like that blue better than my black anyhow!

Kind of tricky. You can find some tear down clips on youtube. Just like Passport, it does need some glue to assemble the screen and the frame. I tried once,but don't want to do it again. There are good possibilities you can damage your frame around the screen. It is very thin.

i shattered my screen and decided to order replacement on etradesupply. Part and shipping with dhl is about 100 usd and you get a perfectly original part in 5 days.
I did the repair myself, i am no repairman and so i followed the clip in this thread. everything went quite well and the only issue is a little light leaking on the right edge of the screen due to a not so good double adhesive placement.
