I am using the My Net Diary app and I have been using for this for quite some time without a problem. I used to be able to take a picture of the UPC symbol and it would register my food item. I can no longer take a picture of it without it saying that Google Play Services needs to be installed. I have always been able to snap the picture before. Otherwise, the app works fine.

I already have a Google account and a BlackBerry Google ID installed on my phone. I was able to download and use the Google Playstore app. What is going on? Am I missing something?

Install and login with 4.3.3.
Install and register with 2.8.
Install Play Services v10.
Update 4.4.4 over 4.3.3 (but don't open).
Install Play Store v6.
Install whitelist 1.0.0.6.

If an app requires Google Play Services:
Download app with Cobalt's Play Store (but don't install).
Whitelist unpatched app.
Patch app on PC with Play Services Patcher 1.6 using defaults settings.

Install patched app.


If after all that, your app still won't work, then it's simply not compatible with BB10.

It sounds like you may have updated your app. It worked well before, but after the update, new "features" have been added that require Google Play Services. Follow Conite's instructions above and there is a good chance it will work again. This is a perfect example of why an update is not always a good thing (especially if you use BB10). If, after you follow the above instructions, it still does not work, then you could search the web for an older version of the app. Be careful where you get the older .apk as many other android app stores can be suspect. Wow, sounds a little over whelming to me I am not at all techy. Lol. I will, however, give it a try. Thank you for the help.
