Classic bought at Orange store in France....
I can see a gap between glass and toolbelt... a gap and a retro-light... annoying but manageable at daily level....

Z30 had a better construction design (to me)

Sorry but the pics are so washed out you can barely see anything at all. Better to capture the photo at a greater distance with correct focus and some cropping afterwards than trying to get a close out-of-focus shot.

Basically it comes down to you: It really does seem to bother you, so you should send it back to get a new one. This is a 400 bucks phone after all and if you aren't satisfied with the quality, you should get it replaced.

I had no idea that the gap you were speaking about was anywhere near as bad as what you've showed in the photos. As the other user pointed out, the contrast isn't exactly set right and it's very blurry however if that is indeed a gap between the screen and the toolbelt then that is unfortunately certainly well beyond what I would consider normal.

If I look very closely I can see a small gap, perhaps 1mm wide in the very right bottom corner of the screen - with that exception everything is flush and there is certainly no light bleed. In fact the more I look at my gap the more I think my eyes are playing tricks on me...

For those interested, here is a good picture of the gap I had in my Classic (I no longer have that phone!). By the way, that's not a cracked screen. It's a wallpaper by Ziro.

Mine too, like maybe enough to put a thin piece of paper into, nothing to care about. I only notice it when I'm looking for it.

Pics taken with an auto focus cam? Wow. Compared to your AF pics, the 9900 was a 'Non' Auto Focus King. With no AF

But back to your problem- there are some build issues around the screen, keyboard etc. I've sold my Classic but mine had only a little bit light bleed on the keyboard.

what do i do.....every pic comes out blurry with my auto focus cam can u guys who feel their classic does not havee any such gap, post some of the pics of their phone so that I can atleast compare mine with theirs and take the final call... I am afraid to go through all the hassle of getting the replacement only to have got back a worse device many people have shared such experience on CB already.

No, I practically gave it away to a co-worker. He had dropped and broken his Z30, and needed another BB. He didn't mind the gap. I actually see him use it daily.

guys...I am sorry if I have been bothering u....am new to CB and blackberry and I feel u guys are doing a commendable job of helping out eeach other...as many of u complained about blurry pics and not being able to give proper suggestions due to my pathetic auto focus cam of an old phone, here I tried to capture some fresh pics from my 3 mp tab cam...I feel these pics have come out lil beetter than those i posteed previously...so I request u once more to have a look at these pics and suggest me what I should be doing..I have matte screen guard on my screen..also I am facing double typing issue..esp with E the most.

I can feel the edge while swiping up each single time, also it's more prominent on the left than on the right...in dark i can see some light bleed on this side of the toolbelt, particularly a tiny dot between the bb home and trackpad.

My Classic has that identical light bleed spot as well. I'm hoping that it'll be fixed on the newer ones coming out soon (bronze!), but it doesn't really bother me at all.

Yes, I was able to see a little dust inside. I was not happy with keyboard because of the light bleed through the keys, not because of the functioning of the keys. In terms of function, the keyboard was great. Actually, it was the best keyboard ever (better than my Q10, Z30, or even my new Passport).

No, I didn't get a new one. I just didn't like the phone (quality issues mentioned, weight, plasticy back, trackpad interfering with swiping, etc.). I went back to my old Q10/Z30 combo (now using a Q10/Passport combo).
