    Hi All
    I have a classic and when I encrypt the phone the battery only lasts a max of 5hrs on standby with no use at all and the sides of the phone near the keypad get hot.
    Does anyone else suffer from this? Any suggestions?

    I have not tried to encrypt my phone.
    But based on what i've read here, there are a few people experiencing the exact same problem as you.

    It sounds like if you let the phone do its thing, it will return to normal in a couple days.

    I have encrypted device storage and do not experience any problems at all.
    Maybe it's just a thing that has to settle.
