I was browsing through DTBlackBerry's Weibo page and noticed the image with the battery was posted without the blurred capacity value. It clearly reads 2515mAh. But what is more interesting is that the Chinese description (roughly) translates to..

DTBlackBerry claims battery may exceed 2515mAh + CPU confirmation?-bb_classic_battery.jpg

"Blackberry Classic Q20 hardware configuration and Blackberry Z30 a dual-core 1.7. There are three kinds of engineering machines Battery: 2515mAh, 2800mAh, 3150mAh. Estimated that the official version of the battery is 3150mAh"

If this is accurate, it's nice to see more confirmation that the Classic will share the Z30's internals as the recent leaked OS radio files suggest. Additionally, he seems to speculate that the final production Classic may be closer to a 3150mAh battery.

On one hand, the 2515mAh seems likely based on concrete images. On the other, we've seen the Classic evolve towards production and our main leaker is suggesting this.

    that would be great!

anyway it's now clear that BlackBerry focuses on battery capacity and improvements. 10.3 really brought huge improvement to battery life

It would definitely be nice to see Z30 specs on this instead of the Q10.

Man, I'd love to see this happen. Z30 specs on a Classic. If Passport sells quite pricey, then the Classic is a most welcome alternative!

I see the Blackberry Classic Like this for the market

2,515 mAh = Decent size, Good battery life, moderate cost, Good for marketing a "full day work phone"

2,800 mAh = Very Good Size, Long Battery Life, moderate + Cost, Great for marketing "battery life for those long weekends"

3,150 mAh = Exceptional Size, Extreme battery life, High Cost, Great for marketing "just like the old days"

    I see there a problem...
    A 300$
    B 350$(400?)
    C 400$(500?)

The entire point of the classic is to get...classic holdouts heh. the battery should be the largest they can get in there...cost matters not, or shouldent... it's using hardware they already have channels for, a battery should not be too costly. If the OEM can get a 3150 to fit, I am sure the standard issue aftermarket battery comps will get a 3700 or so avail shortly after launch.

Which old days are you talking about loll my bold 9900 can't get me through a basic 8 hour work day.

Anyway if they give it a 3150mAh battery that's going to be nuts (in a good way) and if it's removable, might outsell the passport lol

The 9900 was terrible. But I remember my old Bold 9000, that thing lasted like 3 days on one charge, it was a beast...

When I say "the good old days" I'm mostly speaking about phones that didn't have touch screens. Phone that had a screen smaller than 3 inches

My BlackBerry 8520 used to last me about 3 days normally. Was very happy with it. My previous Sony Erricsson used to last literally 1 week.

But over time people have just gotten used to have phones that last around 8 hours and just charge it. I hope in the future phones will once again last 1 week even with all the power they have

Old.. OLD days lol 9000 or 9700 anyone? THAT was the BlackBerry battery

No doubt the classic will be outselling the Passport with or without that battery. The device has been produced to answer an existing demand. Pretty sure they have already many pre-orders and pre-order agreements from a LOT of companies. Without that demand the Classic would not even exist.

Also let's not forget the Classic is supposed to be released in conjunction with BES12..
I hope this is going to be the phone that brings back profitability in the hardware department.

    Oh lol

Yes I remember my old LG flip phones would last quite a bit on one charge - you're right, as time went on people started getting used to shorter and shorter battery life.

Nice to see that come back though!

I didn't want to make a new post but could someone confirm if the phones specs (hardware) are finalized? It sounds like the power of the z30?
Or is BlackBerry still playing with the specs?

I have been so high on the Passport but I love my Q so much that maybe it is the Classic I should be looking at. I just have a feeling the typing will be slower on the Passport even with enough time to get used to it

THOSE! were the good ole days! The 9000 and the 9700 were absolute battery beasts!

If the Classic comes with a 3,150 mAh battery, I'm sold.
