2 years in and I've had no complaints about battery life until now.

Over the past 2 days battery life has taken a drastic downturn. Starting @ 100% @ 7 am I'm now hitting 20% by noon, where before I wouldn't hit 20% until 8 or 9 at nite.

My usage patterns have not changed, haven't installed any new apps or updates.

At a loss to figure out why this has taken such a precipitous downturn.

How many android apps u have installed

Haven't downloaded any android apps, use only apps from BlackBerry world. Here's the cpu usage ss from the same time frame, and the corresponding top usage apps. Not sure why android player appears there, not even sure what it is.

Did you restart the phone? When I had issues in the past switching the phone of would help.

According to this, the phone just charged from around 13% to 100% in under 15 mins.
Something very bizarre is going on.

For some reason the OS isn't reading the battery level correctly.
As can bee seen in the ss below, the OS thinks the battery is @ 0% but the device monitor is showing it @ around 27%. At 7pm (when the battery meter in the top left corner read 0%) I turned on 8 different apps, set screen brightness to max and turned on the flashlight. 3+ hours later and the phone still hasn't died.

Pls try the below

1. Do a hard reset: charge continuously till changing is 100 percent complete. Then simultaneously click on both volume up and down buttons until phone switches off

2. Charge ur phone only when phone is switched off. Do this for one week. Though phone charging completes in few mins, just force charge for 2 hrs

For 2nd step, u can turn off phone when battery reaches below 10 percent. Then u can charge for 2 hrs.

I think it's a battery calibration issue

Did a hard reset last nite and charged till 100% overnight. Battery life has certainly improved. Currently @ 24% after 9 hours of normal use. Battery use looks to be normalizing although not quite where should be. Thanks everyone for your help, will take all your insight into consideration.

Yeah it still sounds like a bit of a battery calibration issue to me.

Think I've narrowed down the issue. Had a particularly hard day of use yesterday so I plugged my Classic into my BlackBerry oem 2100mah portable battery pack (which had a full charge). Well the battery pack discharged in less than 15 mins and only charged the phone battery about 10%. According to the documentation the battery pack should charge the phone from 0% to 100% in about 2hrs. As soon as I unplugged the battery pack my phone battery issues came back with a vengence, obv the oem battery pack is pooched and is screwing with my phone calibrating the battery usage correctly.
