So my little idea. (what if) there was a new legacy os say bbos8 updated with new features better browser better productivity ect made to run on the new classic.

don't you think blackberry classic with a new updated classic blackberry os (legacy)
would really give that old school feel but with all new added features flash java new apps and ect?

Would anybody be interested in trying to code something like that? maybe a theme, skin or a completely new fully moded version of os bbos10?

ya know? make the old complement the new?

Do you think people would like something like that?

    (sorry had to repost)

    No. Nope. No.
The only quality which BBOS has (for developing countries and international travellers) which BB10 doesn't have is/was BIS.

As far as looks I can understand why some would want that. But functionality I would never ever go back to the old BBOS.

BlackBerry needs to move forward with the new platform and let the old platform die. It ran it's course, longer than it should have.

BB10 is so much better and as they keep adding more features it keeps getting better.

That's silly. But a good security update to Windows 95 would be awesome for my Surface.

I think BlackBerry should have used the qnx bb10 platform and made the OS to look and feel exactly the old BBOS and evolve the features from there.

In my opinion the toolbelt should have never been removed, even for all touch devices, and the gestures should have complimented it and not replace it.

I agree that the tool belt shouldn't have been removed from the physical keyboard devices, but the all BlackBerry all touch phones are good without it.

I think that if you're getting a phone with a physical keyboard then you're also likely to want a Call and End button and the track pad.

    No. nope. Negative. Absolutely not.

I really think a lot of people are ignorant of just how technically outdated BBOS was. It's why people left in droves to other platforms.

Ok.. I think OP got the message.

Bottom line is: BBOS was technically long time overdue. The core was never built for multi core and BlackBerry kinda lost control with the OS around version 6.

There are many, many strange bugs in BBOS and we are all happy to say "restart is no longer a solution". (OK... except for the BBM battery draining bug!)

The bb10 crowd has to be one of the most arrogant, speaking for everyone bunch ever. If the os would be that great some lovely bbos features would have been ported over a long ago instead of creating a very complicated os only windows phone is equally difficult

I fully agree with the op gestures aren't the way to go if you have a tool belt, Blackberry should have designed a more button friendly os for the classic

Thank you, according to them we were all stupid for holding on to out BBOS devices while everybody was switching to Androids and IPhones, they don't waste any opportunity to crap on the old OS. BB10 is jut as different from BBOS as All other platform are.

I want my BlackBerry experience back.
