I am pretty sure that I have a hardware issue but am posting on the off chance that I am encountering some kind of conflict.
After setting up my spanking new Classic, I was startled to discover that the handset speaker does not work at all. No static; no noise nothing. Headphones, Bluetooth, Intercom (loud speaker) all work fine.

Like during a phone call the normal speaker you use to put up to your ear?

The phone comes with a 30 day guarantee both from the retailer and direct through BlackBerry. Use it.

So I called BlackBerry after troubleshooting and confirming the defect, they told me that their 30 day complimentary warranty is for technical support only to exchange the device, I need to go back to the retailer.
As I upgraded through a third-party retailer which had only one left, this should be interesting. In any case they were helpful and easy to deal with so far so I hope that continues.

I am, somewhat, disappointed in BlackBerry, however. First a Q10 with perpetually defective keyboards, now a brand new Classic with a broken speaker and all Lem, agent # 056073, from the Asian Pacific (!) BlackBerry office (where late night calls are routed to) can tell me is "that can only be addressed via the retailer"!

That sucks. That's another reason I bought from Amazon, I know their return/exchange policy is good, but mine seems to work perfectly so I didn't even need to use it.
