I'm running Office 365 and do not have this problem. I use the Calendar and Outlook programs and sync through Link. Outlook in 365 is not Outlook.com unless you set it up to be.

I use an Exchange system with active sync. (Office 365 Outlook)
First day or two I had the "contacts doubling thing" On day three I had time to sit down and research and puzzle out the problem and *surprise* the doubling went away without me doing anything [that I am aware of anyway]

Hope yours "disappears" too.

Switch from outlook.com. I know of no other solution other than waiting for BB to fix this and I've seen myself and a lot of others waiting a LONG time. Don't hold your breath.

The contact app in BB10 is a mess and either BB refuses or is incapable of fixing it. Take your pick, but to me, it's a major fail that a mobile communication device has these kinds of problems with it's basic functionality. This should work flawlessly, especially if you call yourself an enterprise company. There really is no excuse for EAS to not work properly. And don't bother wiping and restoring because it's of no use with this issue.

Thank you for this! I can vouch for this app too! It's completely fixed all my duplicates and seems like a great app. Nice to be able to access them from a website too.

This app works so well. Thanks so much.

However I had to put my contacts in the cloud - a potential security risk. Appalling from blackberry. My contacts are in the hand of some random company who does not even charge for their app. How do they make money?
