Right or wrong, I've always attributed some of BBOS GUI's intuitive feel to some of Jim's influence at RIM. There were times when he really need to tape his trap shut, IMO, but the "labor of love" attention to detail seemed to evaporate after Jim's departure, IMO. Last I'd heard, he was carrying a 9900, YEARS after BB10. His transition to Classic validates what many of us are finding... that BB10 has finally matured well enough to provide a rational upgrade path from legacy to Classic! long live the toolbelt! best of luck, Jim.

He's still doing very well for himself (as in still owns a private jet well for himself)
I'd be curious to know what he and the other think about the Priv, BlackBerry's direction, whether they would have gone the same route or bowed out of hardware etc.
Pretty safe to assume he can afford a PassPort AND a Priv. His choice of Classic says it all, IMO.
Toolbelt was, and remains, the most efficient tool for some tasks. Product differentiation is what defines a niche product. BB is now a niche player. Even Apple is groping for a better solution than touch with their "touchless" concept. BB had it all along. BB NEEDED a successful touchglass product. They still do. But, they did NOT need to abandon the toolbelt for 4 years in order to accomplish that, IMO. Like to hear Jim's opinion on that. Wonder how long it'll be till his nda's expire? If ever??
Ah, dear old Jim, only 50% responsible for the demise of BlackBerry and 100% saw it coming, sold his shares before they crashed. Hence the private jet?
All Hail Thorsten. Mother and Father of my Beloved Z10.
