    I did it. Took out the SIM card, restarted, found the text messages settings to confirm delivery, turned them on, then put the SIM card back in without doing anything else.

    Maybe it will last until I restart the phone again...but usually I turn off the screen.

    Sorry - I used "reboot" (because it is, really, a little computer). "Restart" (hold the power key down until you see the option to restart).

    No, I'm sorry for being so literal-minded and nitpicky. I'm going to send someone a text message now and test the function.

    ETA: I just checked the text messages settings screen and the confirm delivery options have disappeared. Oh well, it was a good try.
