    Hi,

I finally migrated over from my old Bold to the Classic and I'm wondering if I can use the space bar to accept and complete words predicted at the bottom of the screen. I know I can just select the word on the screen but I'm wondering if I can use the space bar instead.

    Cheers
    Thorsten

Check Settings > Language and Input > Prediction and Correction > and make sure Auto Correct with space bar is toggled on, if it's there.

I don't wanna correct misspelled words, I wanna complete a predicated word using the space bar without the need to touch the screen.

My bad. I've a Classic myself but it's not on me at the moment. I'm almost certain tapping the word on the screen is the only way to do it. Maybe someone else will have a different answer.

So no way to use the space bar to complete words? Really have to use the screen all the time? That's sad.

When I want to write "BlackBerry," (like I just did) I only type two "b's," hit space and the word gets completed. Is that what you're asking?

    Saludos.

What you are describing is auto correction. I'm looking for auto completion of predicted words when I hit space.

You can't do that with spacebar. Just with tapping.

I see how BlackBerry is underusing the keyboard, many action in the screen can be done also from keyboard.
This things are easy tasks and very few hours of developers, keyboard is a huge killer feature, but they are using worse than PalmOs 8 years ago.

Insert Top Prediction selection is not available on the classic. Seems to be a PP thing. Too bad. That's exactly what I'm looking for.

I was more surprised than anything.
They've already done all the work, and it's up and running on the passport. It can't be that tough to implement it on all BlackBerrys.

I think it was done on purpose. PKB is precision typing. That space auto correct is for the touch screen typer bcuz lots of mistakes were predicted lol.

With the PKB, any mistake would seem deliberate and they would let it stand. Know what I mean?

It's more interruptiv to move away from the keyboard to the screen just to complete a predicted word. It would be easier to have the completion function available on the keyboard itself. And apparently this function is already there on the PP and it was there all the time on all older BlackBerry devices.
