No one knows the specs here yet, but let's say there are two versions of the classic.
One at $349 aimed at upgrading the hoards of BBOS devices.
It has the same specs as the q10.
Or for $449 you could get the z30 specs plus an upgrade to 32 GB.

    Which would you buy?

Z30 specs are about the same as the Q10, just a slight overclocked chip

Why do you want better specs? what part of the OS felt slow for you?

So you come into the Classic forum, go into a thread asking which Classic you would buy, just so you can spend your time to say how you have no interest in it at all. You must be bored...

Well, the Classic came into the Classic thread, and the classic ain't even here.

I don't understand the attraction to this device at all, and that is my point. I wouldn't buy either. But I don't see you jumping on anyone else who said they wouldn't buy this device? Still intrigued by reading what people's attraction to this phone is

The hypothetical is pointless. Blackberry has done some dumb things in the past, but they will not be releasing two versions of the Classic.

Both are dual core chips. Passport is the only quad-core Blackberry... the difference between Z30 and Q10 is that one had the Adreno 320 GPU and the other has the 225.

Why would two versions of the classic be a bad idea?

Keeping the cost down for companies that give out phone to employees is important. And if it was just native app that we used, and that is all some will use, then the q10 specs are fine. Better specs are mostly just needed for Andriod apps.
The other thing is being future proof.
I am doing fine with the 1.5 in my z10 but I want my next phone to last a while.

Basically I always go for the device with the best specs. A low-spec edition of the same device which is available with better specs does only make sense for certain emerging markets in my opinion. The iPhone 5c was not very successful, even though the target market is probably younger.

BlackBerry is targeted at business users and they usually won't bother to spend a little more in order to get some more computing power. Also if the company is going to pay for the device, the allowance is normally higher than 500$
