    Hi guys,

i am really desperate and could not find a fix in several forums.

My Classic wont boot. When I plug it in the green notification light appears for around 1 minute: it is on constantly, no flashing.
When the light goes off an I press the power button again...the same happens.

When I plug it into the PC Windows doesn't recognize any device. And using the BB Link Software the phone isn't recognized either (see screenshot).

    What shoul I do?

    Regards,

Download an Autoloader, run it and then plug your phone into the PC.... should load and get you back up and running. (without your data).

Hey there and welcome to cb! Try holding both volume keys together for 20 seconds and see if that'll work. If that doesn't work try holding the power button (button on top of phone) for 20 seconds.

    Hi,

unfortunately pressing the buttons did not work.
I forgot to mention that the phone dropped on the floor. It has no visual marks. Could it be possible that the battery or any conncetor got a hit?

I could change the battery or other hardware as I have a older classic with a broken screen.

Losing the data would be really painfull...

I found this link forthe autoloader:
    https://journal.hovatek.com/how-to-l...ng-autoloader/

What version of the autoloader will I need?

Thanks for your help I do appreciate it.

If you use the autoloader you will definitely lose any data on the phone.

I guess you have dislodged or broken something inside the phone with the drop.

At this stage if a PC won't recognise it you probably have nothing to lose by trying the autoloader.

I would normally recommend a backup before running the autoloader but I guess that's not an option for you unfortunately.

Hope you can bring it back to life.

You can find all the autoloaders here:

You will need the Z30 autoloader and I would suggest using 10.3.3.3216.
